Has no winning form to her name since reeling off a hat-trick on a variety of AW tracks back in 2013/4 but has run in some decent company on the Flat. Has been hurdling for this yard but failed to progress but wasn't disgraced back on the Flat last time.
Only has a Kempton Park AW win to her name but this will be only her third handicap start and off her lowest mark yet. Looks as though this trip will suit after being highly tried in previous efforts over it and given a chance by the handicapper.
Useful handicapper who won two good class handicaps last year (both higher grade than this) one off a higher mark than today. Found that run of form coming to a half soon after though and has been out of sorts on the Flat and over hurdles of late.
Progressed well last year once she switched to handicaps (won on debut) over shorter trips than today. Tried over further this season and the 1m6f trip at Nottingham appeared to suit well (won off 79); last two runs haven't matched that form though.
Ended last season by winning her first two handicaps over just short of 1m4f at Yarmouth and has kept progressing this year despite not winning. Not seen to best effect in a couple of her races this year but ran another solid race last time and one to note here.
A typical type from this yard who is now only coming into her own over staying trips after showing promise over shorter. Turned in her best performance of her career last time out over this trip (travelled well) and looks the sort to progress again.
Forecasts
Notice (5/4), Melinoe (15/8), Moorside (6/1), Fire Jet (14/1), Groovejet (14/1), Intense Tango (20/1)
The Prescott yard are certainly amongst those that are in a purple patch at the moment and there’s always a danger that the 6lb penalty won’t be enough to stop the improving three-year-old Melinoe and she could run up a sequence (would not be the first from the stable to do that). However she faces a tough rival here in NOTICE who is 4lb well-in here and should appreciate this trip having run well over shorter the last twice. Moorside may well be of interest stepping back into handicaps with the other three all having something to prove.
