Backed off the boards to score at Market Rasen last time and duly obliged, giving the impression of more to come. Will want further in time and this track should suit better, no easy task under a penalty here but has to be respected.
Built on the promise shown here in July when coming out on top over C&D next time out, finding plenty for pressure. This is harder but he's clearly going the right way, and with the tongue tie on for the first time, may do better again.
Very useful on the Flat and has made a decent start to hurdling career, finishing second on last two outings. Slight concern he's not won for a couple of years but this looks easier, and with ideal conditions again, ought to go close.
Rated over 100 for David Wachman at his peak but recent evidence suggests he's nowhere near that level any more. Nevertheless, an interesting recruit to hurdling but this is a tough ask first time up.
Not really shown enough over hurdles to date to suggest he's up to taking a hand here, and well beaten by Mcgroarty last time.
Well beaten in point-to-point and although not totally disgraced behind Jacobite Rising here last time, handicaps will offer him a better chance of winning down the line.
Useful on the Flat and rated high-80's for Charles Hills at his best. Too keen on hurdles debut here behind Jacobite Rising and will need to learn to settle better if he's to get home. Should improve, but others still preferred tonight.
Only weakened at the last when fourth to Mcgroarty on hurdles debut at Market Rasen, so a respectable effort, and this ex-Godolphin individual will win races on that. Probably one for handicaps later on, but needs a watching brief here.
Wouldn't be of the level of a few of these on the Flat, but the sort that Alan King does well with over hurdles and he turned in a respectable first effort at Stratford. Change of headgear here, but may find this too tough.
Only moderate on the Flat and well beaten on first hurdles effort here in July. No realistic chance. of success.
Forecasts
Forgotten Hero (11/8), Mcgroarty (2/1), Mccools Gold (7/1), Jacobite Rising (8/1), Hidden Oasis (16/1), Saxo Jack (20/1), Ogbourne Downs (25/1), Justice Knight (100/1), Lion Of Lackabane (150/1), Oyster Pearl (150/1)
This could be a really informative little event and there should be some clues to be taken from it. A few of these were useful on the Flat and FORGOTTEN HERO was one of them - he can put his hurdles experience to use here and get his head in front. Mcgroarty has attracted money on both his starts for Dr Newland and should continue to improve after his win last time out. Jacobite Rising is another going the right way and can take a prize home.
