Like so many from the yard at present, looked rejuvenated for the change of scenery on first run for the yard when winning with plenty in hand at Newton Abbot last time. Useful conditional takes 10lb off and no reason not to go well again.
Took a backward step in cheekpieces last time (removed here) but in truth had been well beaten over C&D the time before anyway and hard to fancy on that. Others make more appeal..
Looked good when winning easily on first run for the yard at Taunton last year but nowhere near as good since. Gave up a bit quickly again last time and needs to bounce back to best now.
Can carry his head a bit high but did nothing wrong when winning over C&D two starts back. Not disgraced over hurdles at Southwell last time but handicapper has had his say now, so needs to pull out more.
Over two years since he last won one and looks to be regressing on recent evidence. Last of seven on the flat latest and previous hurdles form nothing to write home about. Hard to fancy.
Getting on for six years since he last saw the winners enclosure, has become inconsistent as well but does have a couple of pieces of form that give him chances of hitting the frame again here, if on a going day. Risky.
Pops up at a big price now and then, usually when allowed to dominate. Tends to make the odd bad mistake, which hardly helps, and was beaten out of sight by The Geegeezgeegee last time. Hard to fancy on that.
Is at least running with some consistency at the moment, despite being well beaten most starts is not getting beaten that far and the suspicion is there's a race in him somewhere. Not completely discounted, but probably playing for the places.
Habitually travels well in his races only to find very little off the bridle, but may appreciate this drop back in trip after trying almost 3m over hurdles last time. Chances again but clearly not one for maximum faith in.
Mark falling very quickly after some poor efforts lately, but has won over fences (at a similar trip) and well handicapped should he ever bounce back. Good jockey booking the main positive to be taken but others still preferred.
Forecasts
The Geegeez Geegee (10/11), Thady Quil (13/2), Toe To Toe (7/1), Cry Fury (12/1), Alottarain (14/1), Aregra (16/1), Be Seeing You (16/1), Skint (20/1), Romeo Is Bleeding (25/1), Spock (50/1)
No shortage of pace on here, with Spock and Aregra both wanting to get on with things early, and that will help recent winner THEGEEGEEZGEEGEE who likes to travel from just off the pace. He found plenty for pressure at Newton Abbot, which hasn't always been the case, and he looks another that Olly Murphy has turned around in quick time. You'd have gone broke backing Toe To Toe and probably torn your hair out in the process as he often looks the winner only to find less than expected when push comes to shove. He can hit the frame, with Cry Fury and Alottarain scrapping it out for minor honours.
- The Geegeez Geegee
- Toe To Toe
- Alottarain
