Form over hurdles respectable but nothing out of the ordinary. Also hard to equate his form in point-to-points . But profile boosted with a win latest, and has sound claims from just a 4lb higher mark. Worthy contender despite top weight.

Still a maiden and has a bit to find with Balkinstown, but came up short on numerous occasions in Ireland and has very few secret left to hide. very positive jockey booking though.

Step up in trip should suit despite having never won over this far before. He has, however, gone very close on numerous occasions and the ground shouldn't be an issue. Needs to settle better but can go close if in the mood.

Won a modest handicap at Wetherby towards the end of his time with his former yard. Three starts for current stable need to be bettered and hard to see him being good enough.

Good effort over C&D latest but still needs to post a better effort in this stiffer looking contest. Others more appealing.

Solitary win came over the minimum trip here in October 2014 but only lightly raced since. Steadily improved for current yard but still has a bit more to find. Place claims at best.

Lightly raced maiden and limited number of starts over hurdles have been poor up to press. Hard to fancy on that evidence.

Debut for a yard that does well at this particular course but yet to win under rules and form over hurdles only modest so far. Another with a bit to prove.

Needed the run on debut for here current yard latest and should be more to come now her fitness has been topped up. Has gone well over C&D before now and interesting if backed.

On career lowest mark when posting an encouraging effort last time. More to do on a literal reading of the ratings but this is a poor race and she has a feasible chance of making the frame.

Not without a chance on recent form - latest start suggests she could get competitive for one of the places. risky for win only, however.

Forecast

Premier Rose (11/8), Varene De Vauzelle (9/2), Balkinstown (7/1), Vodka Island (8/1), Beautiful People (12/1), Overtoujay (12/1), Table Bluff (14/1), Tidestream (14/1), Princesse Fleur (16/1), Bankhall (33/1), King Golan (40/1)

Verdict

A modest contest that may be well within the compass of the top weighted BALKINSTOWN, whose latest effort looks better than most on show and he is taken to follow up in this company. Overtoujay has bits and pieces of form that say he can be a tough nut to crack at this level, while Pemier Rose likes this course and is respected on her debut for a new yard. Vodka Island is another to bear in mind if the betting market shows her in a good light.
  1. Balkinstown
  2. Overtoujay
  3. Premier Rose
