Up 6lb after wins at Perth and Aintree when fading at Worcester last time. Bit to prove on that evidence but no surprise to see him bounce back. Career best required though.

Mixed form of late and stable form not currently as strong as likely at the height of the season. Narrow defeat latest reads well in the context of this race though. A similar effort will see him in the thick of the action.

Left his form in bumpers behind when winning over hurdles at the third time of asking. Went very close in a couple of novice events since but has bags of scope now he goes handicapping. Interesting contender here.

Been in good form since winning at Uttoxeter in May but stamina yet to be tested over a trip this far. Limitations exposed last time and needs to post an improved effort this time up.

Went up 7lb for winning at Stratford but well held twice since. Now has a bit to prove but the drop in trip might help. One to be wary of on balance..

On a handy mark and back over a more appropriate trip. Stable always feared at this time of year and this fellow would be dangerous to rule out of the equation.

Forecast

Braavos (9/4), Old Harry Rocks (3/1), Destiny's Gold (9/2), Jacks Last Hope (6/1), Mighty Leader (6/1), Kalifourchon (7/1)

Verdict

It could be worth siding with the potential held by OLD HARRY ROCKS, who is on an attractive mark for his handicap debut and may have plenty more to offer in this sphere. Braavos is an obvious danger and will make this a good test if repeating his latest effort at Uttoxeter, while Kalifourchon receives weight all round and will be waiting in the wings to pounce if there are any frailties shown by his rivals.
