In good form during the spring with wins at Cheltenham and Newton Abbot but was a tad below his best in two starts last month. Stiff test under top weight on that evidence even though the handicapper is starting to take notice .
Consistent and should have no issues with the trip or ground. Up 2lb after a near miss at Market Rasen, but is still on a winning mark and no forlorn hope. Jockey bookings suggest the betting will favour one or other of his stablemates, though.
Held his form really well since the turn of the year and just denied his hat-trick by making a mistake at the last at Uttoxeter in his latest outing. That was his debut for this yard but proves he still has more to offer. Sound claims again here.
Sound claims on the pick of his efforts and entitle to respect. Has form to reverse with Henryville after finishing 5l adrift of his old rival at Newton Abbot in May. Weighted to get closer but needs everything to go his way.
Rampaging through the ranks with five wins from his last nine starts. This is much tougher than most, however, and has a further 7lb on his back to contend with this time around. Rider's claims helps but still a big effort required.
Won three on the bounce before reaching his Waterloo in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen last month. This is easier but hard to asses how much more he has to offer and needs to at least match his personal best to come out on top.
Consistent individual that fully deserved to get his head in front at Down Royal last time out and may still have a bit more to offer. Interesting that he debuts for harry fry today and worth a check in the betting.
Won a class 3 at Cartmel in May but has been below level since. Looks weighted to the hilt and others make more appeal this time.
Up 7lb after winning on debut for his new yard at Worcester at the start of this month. Career best by some way required and hard to see him being up to the task.
Won from a mark of 114 over hurdles at Hexham but found out from a 9lb higher mark latest. Capable over fences but this looks a step beyond him on these terms.
Forecasts
Art Of Payroll (7/4), Voix D'Eau (13/2), Hammersly Lake (7/1), Midnight Shot (8/1), Fox Appeal (17/2), Surf And Turf (9/1), Henryville (10/1), Definite Future (12/1), Mont Royale (16/1), Vikekhal (18/1)
HAMMERSLY LAKE rounded off his time with Nicky Henderson in fine style and may well have been coming into this with his recent record in tact but for a slight mistake at the last. The gelding may still have a little more to offer and he given the benefit of the doubt. Henryville would have been the pick of his stable's representatives in this but needs everything to go his way from top weight, so it might be down to the consistent Art Of Payroll to throw down the gauntlet on this occasion.
- Hammersly Lake
- Art Of Payroll
- Henryville
