Successful on the Flat on his return in May, but bombed in a Curragh handicap over 1m4f next time out.
Won two handicaps in a month apart. Won handicap hurdle here on Thursday. Has ground, track, distance and field size in his favour here.
CD winner, albeit in August 2014. Not disgraced recently at Curragh, Bellewstown and Leopardstown for a stable that does well at this meeting.
C&D winner and not in bad form when winning here last year. Has form on the ground, over the distance and boasts a 27% place strike-rate in fields of this size. Dangerous from 2lb lower than last win.
Consistent performer on the Flat and over hurdles, including last time out in Leopardstown handicap. Has an impressive 42% strike-rate on good ground and can take a hand in the finish here.
Promising second of 20 at the Galway festival last time out, beaten just over 1L. Has won on the ground, over the distance and is two from 16 in fields of this size. Word of warning, still 15lb higher than last win.
141-rated hurdler for Dessie Hughes three years ago and an interesting purchase for the Mullins family. Not seen since June 2016, but proven on going, over distance and in a field of this size and back on winning Flat mark.
Well beaten on last three hurdle starts, but not disgraced on the Flat at Killarney back in May. Record over CD is 241 and cannot be ruled out despite running here last night.
Second runner in the field for champion trainer. Fourth of eight last time out in Tipperary handicap. Handicapper not relenting and still 4lb higher than last win.
Game enough filly, but can be expected to struggle here running off a mark 13lb higher than her last win.
Still 5lb higher than last win, but has solid figures on good ground, over the distance and in fields of this size.
Forecasts
St Lawrence Gap (2/1), Water Sprite (7/2), Petuna (6/1), King of The Picts (8/1), Glendine River (9/1), Alton Bay (10/1), Wood Breizh (16/1), Micras (16/1), Paddy The Celeb (16/1), Little Stampy (33/1), Mandamus (33/1)
King Of The Picts could possibly try and make all here in this competitive contest. Mandamus, Wood Breizh and St Lawrence Gap in behind. The historical nature of races over this distance at Tramore has a slight advantage for those running up with the pace. St Lawrence Gap, ground, track, distance and field size in his favour here and Alton Bay can fight for the minors, while the selection is, KING OF THE PICTS, interesting purchase for the Mullins family.
- King of The Picts
- Alton Bay
- St Lawrence Gap
