Made a very promising start to her career at Stratford where the speed in her Flat pedigree was seen to good effect. Quickened up well to win going away from a field that looked to have shown some ability.
Plenty of stamina in her pedigree with the dam being and unraced half-sister to 3m1f chase winners Waterski and Highland Cathedral. Yard are 0/89 over the last five years and she would be a surprise winner.
Pedigree is very ordinary and although she may have needed the run and comes from a leading yard she showed very little on her sole run over C&D.
From a yard that do well with their bumper runners and well backed on her debut (started favourite) she showed something to work on. Disappointing therefore that she didn't build on her debut when well beaten at Hexham and needs to bounce back.
Took until her third run to show any promise although she may well have been flattered by having the run of the race. Could well be vulnerable again in this sphere given her previous form.
Will need to improve on what she showed in a Wexford bumper but did offer something to work on. Given her connections an improved showing isn't out of the question here.
Only managed to come sixth in a slowly-run C&D bumper but she is bred to stay well and 2m is never going to show her in the best light. Ought to do better down the line but this looks to sharp a test at this stage of her career.
Stable are 0/4 in GB bumpers over the last five years with this daughter of Oscar tongue-tied for her debut. Makes some appeal on her pedigree.
Stable is always to be respected in these sort of events and her pedigree looks smart in the context of this race with the jockey booking also an eye-catching one.
Forecasts
Silk Run (5/2), Secret Escape (3/1), Rubytwo (7/2), Shillelagh Tiara (9/2), Shesthebusiness (8/1), Oscar Light (16/1), Solway Berry (20/1), Onahandshake (28/1), Brandy Breeze (33/1)
Secret Escape made a debut that there was a lot to like about at Stratford and she should make a good fist of giving away the weight away here. Rubytwo needs to come back to some sort form after her disappointing run at Hexham with Shillelagh Tiara one who could well take a step forward after her debut where she showed some promise. SILK RUN looks the most interesting though given her pedigree and her connections record with horses of this type.
- Silk Run
- Secret Escape
- Shillelagh Tiara
