Eases in grade and represents buzzing stable with a fine 44% winnng strike rate ( 7-16) at this venue. This looks more realistic than recent tasks so has be one to take into consideration

Won here on debut over extended mile and returns to A/W for the first time since. Not set the world alight on turf so switch back to Tapeta makes plenty of sense, but needs to improve.

Son of Dubawi out of Group 3-winning dam, but showed nothing in three starts for Aidan O'Brien last year. Made a winning debut in handiacp for this yard at Windsor in June and faced stiff task last time. Respected on A/W bow.

Nicely bred daughter of Oasis Dream. Won Lingfield maiden for Hugo Palmer in February and joined current handler after subsequent handicap debut. 160-day break to overcome though and may be better for the outing.

Landed Lingfield 7f maiden last July bit generally disappointing in seven starts since, although ran best race this term when close fifth here last month. Hopes rest on step up in trip doing the trick.

Won 7f course maiden last autumn and campaigned last three starts at 12f and beyond. Connections seem to be struggling to find his ideal trip and this looks like another experiment.

Won handicaps at Newcastle (7f) and Kempton (8f) already this campaign and looks ready to attempt a further step up in trip. Cheekpieces applied in vain for the first time last month are now dispensed with.

Beaten in photo at Newbury in June but remains a maiden and looked rather one paced when fifth over a similar trip to today at Pontefract last time. Not ruled out of the equation but others make more appeal.

Claimed out of Julia Feilden's yard after winning an A/W claimer in February and hasn't really shone for new connections in eight outings since. Good young apprentice claims 7lb so not totally without hope.

Weakened quickly on recent debut for this yard at Thirsk and beaten a long way. May have needed the run after seven month absence and has a squeak on best runs for previous connections. Tough task though.

Forecasts

African (5/2), Mont Royal (9/2), Quinteo (11/2), Scala Regia (13/2), Plead (7/1), Ice Dancing (8/1), Sir Gnet (8/1), Critical Thinking (8/1), Dreaming Time (14/1), Northdown (33/1), My Brother Mike (66/1)

Verdict

PLEAD is fancied to deny top weight and should appreciate the drop in class. His yard has a tremendous record at this venue so looks one to keep on the right side. African runs for the first time on Tapeta and might prove a danger. He seems to have done well for his change of stable and is certainly respected, along with recent Beverley winner Mont Royal. Scala Regia is another with claims in an open contest, along with previous course winner Ice Dancing.
