Ex-Irish gelding who stayed on over this trip last time to finish a respectable third. Shouldn't be far away and has fine lady rider on board.
Connections have tried a variety of tactics without hitting the target this term and suspicion is that the handicapper might need to relent another few pounds before this Casamento colt regains the winning thread.
Nine course wins to his name, most recently in selling company in April. This looks a tougher task, but his penchant for Dunstall Park means he cannot be ruled out of calculations.
Only win came on racecourse bow at Ripon last year. Ran well at Thirsk last month but a little disappointing on return visit to that track 13 days ago. Makes A/W debut so any market interest would be worth noting.
Three wins on turf but failed to shine in three starts on the A/W thus far. Yard continues to fire in the winners and hasn't been beaten far in each of his last six runs. Shouldn't be far away.
12 of 13 career wins have come at this track but has looked to be on the wane in two very tame efforts here this summer. Hard to recommend at present despite outstanding overall course profile.
Goes well for a lady rider and won here over C&D three starts ago. Runs off 6lb higher mark now so will need to be on the top of his game to add to that success.
Forecasts
Madroos (15/8), Devil's Bridge (11/4), Character Onesie (6/1), Know Your Name (6/1), Fayez (7/1), Mr Red Clubs (16/1), Idol Deputy (33/1)
MADROOS may just come out on top in an interesting affair having run a solid race last time out. The danger in a race where nothing can be ruled out might be Fayez, who makes his A/W debut and could prove better than his achievements so far on turf. Course specialists Mr Red Clubs and Idol Deputy are respected but need to be firing on all cyinders, while Devils Bridge is another who enters calculations despite appearing to be handicapped to the hilt.
- Madroos
- Fayez
- Devil's Bridge
