12/1
Dual C&D winner who drops into plating company for the first time. Showed he retains his enthusiasm and ability to win here in June and there are valid excuses for his two defeats since. Looks one for the shortlist.

No match for a Mark Johnston improver last time and faces an easier task here. Nevertheless, she is a 15-race maiden who looked a tricky customer last time and cheekpieces go on.

Won a Redcar claimer and a Thirsk seller over 1m in August 2016, but no promise since switched back to handicapping this term. Stable are in better form now but this longer trip raises concern given the family history.

Record of 3-67 makes him an unreliable proposition. Handled the conditions well to exploit a career low mark and land a poor race at Ffos Las. Comfortably held in two starts since and not an obvious one to bounce back.

Arrives in good order and beat a subsequent winner (Midnight Warrior) when scoring over C&D in early July. Not quite as good on next two starts and produced a dismal effort at Newcastle a week ago.

Course winner representing a trainer/jockey combination who are 4-18 around here. Appeared not to stay this trip last time when having plenty of use made of him.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-4| J: T Eaves| T: N Tinkler| OR:  52| CD

Has something to find with Cool Music on running here early last month. However, he has produced the better effort since having chased home a subsequent winner at Carlisle. Scored over C&D in similar company a year ago and has obvious claims.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: B A Curtis| T: Miss Tracy Waggott| OR:  51

19-race maiden who has flopped on his last three starts. New headgear tried by a stable whose horses have been thereabouts lately without actually winning.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-12| J: Russell Harris(7)| T: A Crook| OR:  45

An eight-race maiden whose latest effort only reinforces the impression he lacks ability. Stable continue to look for a suitable trip but appear to be facing an impossible task.

Barbary Prince7
Age: 5|  Weight: 8-12| J: Joe Doyle| T: S A Harris| OR:  45

Well beaten on all six starts to date in better company and yet to finish within 20L of a winner. Seemingly up against it once more.

Knightsbridge Liam30
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: Harrison Shaw(7)| T: M & D Easterby| OR:  54
5/1
Three-year-olds have won the last three renewals of this and he makes some appeal now dropping in class. Would face an easier task if this were a handicap.

Forecasts

Sevilla (2/1), Knightsbridge Liam (5/1), Cool Music (7/1), Percy Verence (7/1), Chauvelin (7/1), Sakhalin Star (8/1), Lean On Pete (12/1), Tin Pan Alley (14/1), Scruffy Mcguffy (25/1), Python (50/1), Barbary Prince (66/1)

Verdict

Cheekpieces might straighten out Sevilla who ran into a filly at Lingfield who has gone well in better company since. Lean On Pete is always worth a second look around here and his first run in a seller promises to see him putting in another big run. CHAUVELIN looked ready to score soon when chasing home Thorntoun Care a month ago. A winner in similar company last year he makes plenty of appeal in a race which will take little winning.
