The only C&D winner in the field who generally tries to make all and did just that for his latest win over this trip at Pontefract off a mark of 67 in a first-time visor. Not quite been able to match that form since in four starts but always dangerous if handed a soft lead.
Formerly with Henry Candy she's not really shown much for her current yard and has certainly been below form on her last two starts. The handicapper doesn't seem that keen to offer her much respite despite her slipping below her last winning mark and she's best watched here.
Certainly showed that he was capable of winning a race when running well over a trip that stretched his stamina at Catterick on his penultimate start. He showed that running to be correct when brought back to a 1m2f trip last time at Redcar and just got touched off after travelling well and a similar performance here will see him go close.
Has been in good and consistent form since winning at Carlisle in June (0-60) and was placed in three races after that before showing further improvement to win a 0-80 at Pontefract last time out. Both those wins came on soft going so he needs to cope with slightly quicker ground here and a mark that has proved beyond him before.
The first of two recent wins looked to be instigated by a falling mark when she took a Doncaster handicap off a mark of 54 and followed up off 4lb higher at Leicester winning by a narrow margin. A further 3lb rise might make this a bridge too far for the hat-trick though although she has shown a good attitude in both her wins.
Continues to slide down the weights but shows very little sign of arresting the decline in either the weights or form and looks well out of sorts as things stand.
Was one of the least exposed in the field last time out and that's very much the case here as she tries handicaps for the second time. She didn't fire there over 2f further and it's hard to draw any firm conclusions from that run and she may be worth another chance.
The other three-year-old in the field and hasn't had that many runs and back from another break her after shaping well last time out but again she may need this after being off a while again. She may do a lot better in the future and given her connections and their record here a market watch is advised.
Forecasts
Liquid Gold (5/2), Beverley Bullet (11/4), Yensir (7/2), Mysterial (7/1), Inflexiball (8/1), Miss Danby (8/1), Perceived (20/1), Arrowzone (33/1)
The last time out winners Beverley Bullet and Inflexiball are obvious starting points here although both leave you with the feeling that they will have to show further improvement to continue their winning runs. Both the three-year-olds hold some interest with the better ground possibly suiting Liquid Gold this time around and Miss Danby worth watching in the market. Mysterial is likely to lead and will be dangerous if allowed to skip away from his field but his recent form looks poor overall. Connections appeared to have now worked out that this distance is just right for YENSIR who was just touched off at Redcar on Saturday after travelling well and he gets the vote here with the slight worry that this does come quite quickly.
- Yensir
- Liquid Gold
- Miss Danby
