Horse A-Z
Cost just €2,000 but showed promise to finish third over C&D last time out. Going the right way and worth considering here.
Gone close several times already and definitely has ability. Poor effort only try over hurdles but still has time on his side and is under the tutelage of a top trainer. Sound claims once more and should give another good account of himself..
Needs to improve dramatically on last season's debut run and hard to recommend until he has proved he has trained on and has started to learn his trade.
Open to improvement but has a bit to prove with Slippery Serpent after their encounter at Roscommon and probably best watched on this occasion.

11/10
Cost €15,000 and is a half-brother to several winners. Gone close in each of his three starts so far and represents a yard which has a tremendous record in races of this nature.. Shortlisted.
Started off with Gordon Elliott but already switched yards before this his racecourse debut. Gut feeling suggest he is best watched..
Modest on debut but much better with a solid performance to chase home an odd-on favourite at Balinrobe last time. Big chance here with normal improvement.

Caught the eye on debut but didn't progress as expected in a similar race at Wexford last month. Still early days but blotted her copybook a tad and now has something to prove.
Cost just €600 and is a half-sister to a winning point-to-pointer. Breeding lacks sparkle and may find a good number of these are a cut above.

Forecasts

Special Ted (11/10), Slippery Serpent (9/4), Cornakill Rose (4/1), Mr Dealer (8/1), Twasthehorseorher (20/1), Casadel Sol (33/1), Lady Multifix (40/1), Drumbar Millie (50/1), The Long Hall (50/1)

Verdict

A few of these are likely to go on to better things, with CORNAKILL ROSE edging Slippery Serpent and Special Tedr out of the frame as the main hope on this occasion. Support for Mr Dealer would also be a persuasive factor for an each-way punt.
  1. Cornakill Rose
  2. Slippery Serpent
  3. Special Ted
