A perfect three from three at this track in 2017 (7f and 1m x2), with his latest success coming on his penultimate start in late June for Cal Rodriguez. Not able to get involved on turf at Musselburgh latest, but always feared at this track.
Made all until joined on the post when dead-heating in a Beverley seller (7f+) in June. Well beaten back in a handicap since, but that was over 1m2f so excused.
Claimed for £6,000 after winning at Redcar in June (7f), with tonight's rival Iberica Road in behind (fourth). Largely below par since until returning to Redcar latest. Has won on Polytrack previously and ran okay here in a claimer last year.
A dual winner in the south (Brighton and Bath) last back-end for Ismail Mohammed, but not so sharp since picked up for 16,000 gns by these connections in November 2016. Falling in the weights and wears first time cheek-pieces, but others are much more appealing at present.
Knows this place well with 11 of his last 12 starts coming here since August 2016. Massively consistent during the winter months, winning twice and finishing runner up on four occasions. Freshened up since his latest victory in March, upped 3lb and likely ready for the AW fixtures that lie ahead here from September onwards.
Took his first race since winning here on the final day on turf in September 2015 when proving 1L better than Fine Example at Musselburgh (7f good to firm) recently. Up 3lb, and respected but yet to prove himself here on Tapeta.
Dual Fibresand winner who renews battle with 1+L May course conqueror Symbolic Star on much better terms. This trip could suit and despite being a shade in and out on turf, is handicapped to run well.
A proven winner in this grade at this track (October and November 2016) and had excuses (set too much to do) when a runner up over 1m to Table Manners in May. Backed out of it when fifth of nine over C&D in May against the battle hardy Barwah, but still respected nevertheless.
Seven race maiden who finished sixth to Gun Case in this contest for Colin Teague in 2016. Moved on to new connections and back from twelve months off wearing a first time hood.
Stablemate of Faintly. A six race maiden who is beginning to fall in the weights (down 5lb since her latest start; stable debut). Always likely that this excellent trainer will find the answers to new 'ish' arrivals and one to keep an eye upon accordingly.
Struggled from elevated marks since notching a Brighton and Beverley double earlier this calendar year and best watched for now. Has shown that he handles Tapeta previously (Wolverhampton).
Left Phil McBride for £8,000 after finishing a ¾L runner up to Major Cornwallis in a Leicester seller (7f good) last month. Slowly away and never competitive on stable debut at Redcar subsequently and seeks to break the maiden tag at the seventh attempt.
Not beaten all that far in a 5f maiden here on Good Friday and tried 7f for the first time on handicap debut at Ayr last month (fourth of 11 to Magic Journey). Still relatively unexposed and cheek-pieces could be helpful.
Hit with a rather savage 11lb rise after a decisive 3½L success in a C&D classified stakes in May and unsurprisingly has struggled since. Vulnerable from this mark until granted some leniency.
Forecasts
Angel's Acclaim (7/2), Pass The Cristal (6/1), Faintly (13/2), Rey Loopy (7/1), Symbolic Star (9/1), Justice Pleasing (11/1), Iberica Road (16/1), Destination Aim (16/1), Supreme Power (20/1), Luath (20/1), Truly (22/1), Nonno Giulio (25/1), Beatbybeatbybeat (33/1), Heavenly Angel (33/1)
Justice Pleasing knows pretty much every single yard of the straight track at Newcastle, and assuming he's fully tuned up and ready to go after his break should run a solid race. However, with the sneaking suspicion that connections will have their eye on the long winter months ahead, he can be taken on in pursuit of some value. Faintly is much feared, and rock solid in Class 6 handicaps over C&D, whilst the top-weighted Symbolic Star simply adores this track. However, he has it all to do with LUATH based upon their clash here in May, and the Suzzanne France trained four-year-old gelding could conceivably pop up at a decent price now returned to an artificial surface.
