Already had two AW wins to his name at Wolverhampton but had looked as though he was hard to win with on turf until popping up at Doncaster over 5f last time out taking advantage of a falling mark.
Ran in swamp like conditions and enjoyed them when winning at Nottingham very recently over 6f turning in a career best performance. Conditions won't be the as soft here and she has to carry a 6lb penalty for that win and although respected she may well have been flattered last time out.
His two most recent efforts have very much suggested that he can win off this mark as he's not been suited by the run of the race on his last two starts and the 7f trip last time out look too much of a test. He should be able to cope with the ground and if he gets a race run to suit he can trouble them all here.
The likely pace setter here he showed improved form to get off the mark on his penultimate run at Catterick over 6f on quick ground. He ran up to that form without improving on it last time out at Leicester over the same trip (travelled strongly) finishing third although he may just e held off this mark now.
Her two wins earlier in the year came on the AW over 7f with the last win coming off this mark. Has run respectably on her last three starts after a break (given a positive ride) at Chepstow last time out over 7f (heavy) but does look a little vulnerable to any improvers in a race.
Twice a winner as a juvenile his career this year hasn't progressed over a variety of trips and he continues to be below his best form with the tongue-tie going on for the first time in an attempt to arrest the slide.
Bred to be quite useful she's taking time to show her full potential although she looks to be getting there of late and produced her best effort at Ripon last time out over 6f. Raised just 1lb for that run she still looks to have some progress in her and may just have taken time to come to herself.
The drop to 5f and going handicapping off a break appeared to be the catalyst for some improved form from him back in April off a mark of 56. Has never really been able to match that form and his last two turf starts have seen him well beaten.
This is probably more her sort of company after being too highly tried last time out in a 0-80 at Chester but overall she's not one to be making excuses for even in this company.
Forecasts
Haworth (5/2), Twilight Spirit (3/1), Chickenfortea (6/1), Lexington Sky (13/2), Mia Cara (7/1), Allux Boy (12/1), Peachey Carnehan (14/1), Blue Rocks (20/1), Lambrini Legacy (25/1)
Quite an interesting sprint handicapper with the two last time out winners at the head of the weights a duo to give consideration to although conditions won’t be as testing for Lexington Sky and Peachy Carnehan has a penalty to cope with. Chickenfortea is respected but may have run out of progress and it’s HAWORTH who is the suggestion here given the fact that his last two runs have shown plenty of promise and he’s not got the run of the race at all. Twilight Spirit is another potential improver who looks to be steadily coming to herself now and living up to what is a very smart pedigree.
- Haworth
- Twilight Spirit
- Lexington Sky
