Successful in an amateur riders contest over 1m2f at Beverley (good-to-soft) eight days ago. Carries a 6lb penalty for that success and interesting to see how he fares here.
Finished third in a claimer over this trip at Leicester (good-to-firm) in June but disappointing in a handicap at Newbury (1m3f, good-to-firm) subsequently. Debuts for a new stable having cost 8,000gns at the sales last month.
Winning for the seventh time when successful by 4L over 1m4f at Leicester (good) last month. Ran well over this trip when a neck second subsequently and interesting having been outclassed at Newmarket last time.
Finished fourth the last twice including in a 1m6f handicap at Nottingham (good-to-soft) last time out. Drops back markedly in trip today though have to go back to November 2012 to find his most recent success.
Well held since finishing third over 7f on good ground here 12 months ago. Could finish only sixth over an extended 1m5f at Chelmsford at March when last in action and returns from a break today.

Forecasts
Maestro Mac (9/4), Polar Forest (5/2), Gold Class (10/3), Tyrsal (4/1), Art Scholar (9/2), Color Force (7/1), Outlaw Torn (7/1), La Havrese (8/1), Thecornishbarron (14/1), Sunshineandbubbles (25/1), Jonnie Skull (33/1)
TYRSAL was racing from well out of the handicap when finishing ninth at Newmarket last time but his previous form reads well in the context of this contest. The selection had finished runner-up over C&D the time before and can claim this event at the chief expense of Polar Forest who carries a penalty having won at Beverley recently while Gold Class an 11 race maiden on this surface on the Flat can finish third having won on debut for this yard over hurdles last time.
- Tyrsal
