Has been out of touch on all starts in 2017 under both codes. Impossible to fancy at present.
Son of New Approach who cost €27,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to the useful Alamode. Has finished last on both starts and tackles a longer trip here. Looks a more likely type for the handicap he will probably go for after this.
Son of Exceed And Excel out of a dam who won five races at up to 1m. Pedigree indicates he may need a shorter trip and stable's horses generally need their initial run.

Sea The Stars colt, cost 250,000 gns as a foal and half-brother to Group 1 winner Rajeem. Split a useful pair at Newbury on his reappearance before disappointing on soft ground when odds-on net time. Off the track almost three months since and drops in distance with a first-time tongue-tie. Sets a clear standard on that Newbury form.
First foal of a dam who was unplaced on her sole US start. Sire gets his share of AW winners and worth noting in the market for a yard holding a good AW record with this age group.
280,000 gns purchase boasting a sprint pedigree being by Dutch Art out of a dam who won over 6f and whose previous foal won over 5f. Trip an obvious worry but rider has a 37 percent strike rate for the stable, who in turn are 7-11 at this course in 2017.

Shown little in two runs including when 150/1 on stable debut. Pedigree indicates he might do better on an AW surface but that improvement would have to dramatic to win this.

Related to several winners and cost 65,000 gns as a yearling. Looked in need of the run when last of three on her Newmarket debut but was not beaten too far Should come on considerably for that and has an obvious chance in a race lacking depth.

Forecasts

Karawaan (8/11), Military Parade (7/4), Perfect Spy (6/1), Kingdomforakitten (10/1), Grantchester (25/1), Royal Hall (33/1), Alternate Route (66/1), The Iron Factor (100/1)

Verdict

Having fetched 280,000 gns at the sales, Military Parade should be noted for positive signals in pre-race trading. The stable have placed their horses well here in 2017 and this rider has a high strike rate for them. On pedigree there have to be fears about his ability to get the trip and preference is for KARAWAAN. Sir Michael Stoute's runner was a costly failure last time but he appeared not to see out the trip on the soft ground. He split a pair of horses rated at 90 or above on his Newbury reappearance and that standard would be good enough to win most races of this type around here. Perfect Spy should improve on her Newmarket debut and rates the best of the rest.
  1. Karawaan
  2. Military Parade
  3. Perfect Spy
