No win on the Flat since her debut in May 2014 and has plenty to find up against some unexposed, improving and talented fillies here. Cheek pieces applied for the first time.

Has run some nice races in handicaps since switching from maiden company, though he handicap mark has been creeping up as a result without him actually winning. Others are probably better weighted here.

Not disgraced in some better handicaps than this recently, having won a Bath maiden in May (1m3½f, good). Seems on a workable mark and should be capable of going well here.

Has collected some eye-catching form behind some very nice types in her short career so far, including when not far behind subsequent dual-Oaks and King George winner Enable on her debut. Second in a similar race to this at Newmarket two starts ago and not discounted with first time cheek pieces.

Last time out winner at Windsor (1m3½f, good to soft), and has progressed nicely since starting off in handicap company. No surprise to see her take the necessary step up here to at least hit the frame.

Recorded a second win of the season at Windsor last time out (1m3½f, good to firm). Up 4lb and in a deeper-looking field but comes here in good form and demands close consideration.

Good start to her handicapping career when second at Windsor last time out having won a maiden at Goodwood on her penultimate start. Up just 1lb and remains unexposed.

So Sleek19

4/1
Has placed in each of her last five races, finally getting off the mark last time out in maiden company. Her opening mark seems fair for this handicap debut and she looks to have leading claims.

Forecasts

Gallifrey (7/2), So Sleek (4/1), Lightening Dance (5/1), Nathania (13/2), Harebell (13/2), Di Alta (8/1), Squiggley (8/1), Jelly Monger (20/1)

Verdict

It's possible to build a case for most of these in what is a decent handicap for the grade of race. SO SLEEK has been very consistent lately, finally getting off the mark in a maiden last time out and repaying her connections' persistence with her in that type of race. Making her handicap debut now she seems to be on a fair mark and with her still showing steady improvement she can be trusted to at the very least give her true running here. Lightening Dance made her own handicap debut last time and ran very well so is feared most up 1lb, ahead of the in-form Harebell.
  1. So Sleek
  2. Lightening Dance
  3. Harebell
