Eight race rules maiden who has some placed form in handicap hurdles over longer trips. Off since April, and has left Ruth Carr to join this trainer. Others look far more likelier winners.
C&D winner in April from a 5lb lower mark (beat Cape Hideaway by a head), but solid enough over hurdles since including when beaten by a subsequent dual winner (Onlyfoolsownhorses) at Carlisle in May. Not so effective on the Flat most latterly, but this looks a far better option back over hurdles.
Previous course winner (2m, May 2016) but has scarcely troubled the judge since then. Falling in the weights as a result and theoretically handicapped to go well, but you wouldn't be banking on him to do so based upon what he's shown so far this year.
Needs to bounce back from a below par showing at Stratford last month, but had earlier been in decent order, and won here over a longer trip (2m4f) on his penultimate start (beating Turkey Creek by a neck). Place claims.
Maiden for previous trainer Anabel Murphy, but has found a new lease of life since joining this promising new to the ranks trainer. Runner up over 2m on stable debut at Uttoxeter in early July, he was off the mark just five days later when beating Bring Back Charlie by ½L at Stratford (2m2f+ good). Obvious claims under the champion jockey despite a 5lb rise.
Looks moderate at best on what we've witnessed to date and hasn't progressed since switched to this stable. Should be better suited by handicapping (debut), but truthfully needs to be.
12 race maiden who has mixed hurdling with fencing without any clear signs of progress so far. Always behind when eighth of nine in a Uttoxeter novices handicap hurdle last week and impossible to fancy.
Left Nick Mitchell for £5,000 not all that long after winning over fences at Taunton in April (3m good to firm). Well backed and duly bolted up on stable debut at Worcester on Tuesday (2m+ handicap chase). Reverts to hurdles turned out quickly from an advantageous 3lb lower mark and looks another well bought and likely to run up a sequence for team Skelton.
25 race maiden (0 from 11 over hurdles), and well held in each of his last three starts at this track. Makes no appeal whatsoever from out of the weights.
Forecasts
Get Ready Freddy (4/7), Sky of Stars (3/1), Overtoujay (10/1), Arabian Oasis (10/1), Marju's Quest (33/1), Alices Man (33/1), George Herbert (33/1), Honest Intent (33/1), Rossington (40/1)
Connections of Sky Of Stars might have thought that in booking Richard Johnson, there was every likelihood that their recent Stratford winner would follow up in a similar contest. However, they appear most unfortunate to have bumped into the obviously well handicapped GET READY FREDDY. This seven-year-old fairly bolted up over fences on his debut for Team Skelton at Worcester on Tuesday, and has been well placed to take advantage of an even lower mark over hurdles this afternoon. We've already seen the blueprint for a cheaply bought horse to run up a sequence for this stable in 2017, and we can expect to be seeing plenty more of Get Ready Freddy in the days and weeks that follow.
- Get Ready Freddy
- Sky of Stars
- Arabian Oasis
