Previous C&D winner and also been in good form this season. Won at Ayr in June but held in two starts since. Tough test on these terms but is dropped in class and has a useful rider taking 5lb off with his claim. No secrets fro the handicapper but should run his race.
Hard to predict but has won a couple of decent looking races. Has a bit to prove after a below par effort last time and yet to win off a mark this high.
Five furlong specialist but does cope with today's additional distance. Entitled to be thereabouts but does have a bit to prove with My Name Is Rio and needs everything to fall into place for him over this trip.
On a long losing run and hard to fancy on a literal reading of hid recent form figures. very well handicapped these days though and at least holds the likes of Bogart on recent evidence. Interesting to see how he reacts to the first-time visor.
Not too many miles on the clock and capable in this company. Needs to reverse form with Meshardal and will take a bit of a leap of faith for win only purposes.
Struggled since winning at Nottingham in June but copes with the predicted conditions and will be suited by the return to 6f. One to bear in mind if the hood rekindles his interest.
A reliable yardstick but on a very long losing run and is for the brave only these days. Well treated just now though and wouldn't be winning out of turn if all the pieces finally came together for him again.
Easily boasts the best recent form figures and has won four of his last seven starts (placed in the other three). Yard won this race last year and has the leading contender to lift the lions share of the prize-money once again; in spite of the gelding now being on a career highest mark.
2-from-2 over C&D and acts with a bit of cut in the ground. Has a bit to find with Scofflaw and Meshardal after their encounter at Haydock so needs to pull plenty our of the fire on this return to one of his favourite tracks.

Forecasts
Scofflaw (7/2), Meshardal (4/1), The Armed Man (9/2), Ninjago (5/1), My Name Is Rio (7/1), Bogart (9/1), The Commendatore (9/1), Zapper Cass (20/1), Majdool (25/1), Singeur (40/1)
Hard to avoid the impressive form figures posted by MESHARDAL, who edges preference over his old adversaries Scofflaw and The Armed Man in a race that looks teed-up for his style of running. Top weight My Name Is Rio also likes this course and is feared as the best of the rest.
- Meshardal
- Scofflaw
- The Armed Man
