Broke her maiden at the second time of asking on soft ground over 1m2f here at the end of June. Shaped as if she'd stay further on that occasion and an interesting runner on handicap debut.

Winning for the second time when successful over an extended 1m3f at Windsor (good-to-firm) in June. Well beaten third off this mark on soft ground since and likely to find the forecast ground softer than ideal here.

Successful over an extended 7f at Ffos Las (good) last August. Best outing since came when runner-up over this distance on the AW at Wolverhampton last time out and races off a 3lb higher mark here.

Winner over 7f at Carlisle (good-to-soft) last year but well held in two outings over 1m2f so far this year. Steps up in trip and wears cheekpieces for the first time today.

Forecasts

Great White Shark (13/8), Key Bid (11/4), Mister Belvedere (4/1), Wefait (5/1), Our Boy (11/1), Riviere Argentee (50/1)

Verdict

GREAT WHITE SHARK broke her maiden on soft ground here last time out and shaped as if this step up in trip would suit on that occasion. Trainer James Fanshawe has had a couple of winners in recent weeks and she can get the better of Key Bid who also broke his maiden last time out, this time at Thirsk back in May. Of the remaining runners top weight Mister Belvedere should appreciate this drop back in trip and he can claim third in this opening event.
  1. Great White Shark
  2. Key Bid
  3. Mister Belvedere
