Formerly trained by Charlie Appleby, made first start for new trainer this season on the back of 670 days away. Evidence in four runs says not much of old ability remains and mark has tumbled 12lb as a result but hard to see a win in this.
Gained second career win at this track over this trip last month under this claiming rider, has 5lb more to burden now but did with a bit in hand and follow up not ruled out if he turns up in the same mood.
Four runs this summer have not offered much in the way of encouragement, is 3lb wrong at the weights for this and first-time blinkers are called for. Yard continue to be in good form at least.
Holding form well this season and duly scored over 7f at Catterick on penultimate start, ran fair race under penalty in this this grade at Thirsk since and certainly not out of things.
In and out performer of late, ran eye-catching race last month at Carlisle (1m, good to firm) when under 1L down in second of eight. Entitled to have a leading say here off same mark if repeating.
Seven-race maiden who has run a few fair races suggesting he can win one at some point. Looked mulish though here last time when a disappointing favourite and on that evidence can't be recommended.

Forecasts
The Stalking Moon (11/4), Rock N Rolla (11/4), Echo Of Lightning (5/1), Pepys (5/1), Curzon Line (5/1), Alexandrakollontai (5/1), Roaring Forties (11/1)
ECHO OF LIGHTNING did things well enough over C&D three weeks ago to merit the suggestion he and Megan Nicholls can defy an extra 5lb here. The gelding has a decent strike rate at this sort of level and, in a small field, plenty of his rivals have questions to answer. Pepys rather blotted his copybook at Beverley last time out and comes with risks now while Alexandrakollontai's Redcar win came out of the blue and she's left with very little wiggle room off her revised rating. The Stalking Moon and Curzon Line appear most likely to thwart the selection on their best efforts this summer.
