Mister Universumt31
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR:  120
10/11
In-and-out form before bursting to life last time at Stratford where he wore a tongue time for the first time and blew away his rivals in a maiden hurdle. Needs to show that was no fluke, but connections seem to have found another winnable race for him.

Luso Benny62
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: A Nicol| T: P Holmes
14/1
Signs of ability in two bumpers and a maiden hurdle in Ireland. Makes his debut for this stable and would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to take a hand in the finish.

Patience Tony8
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Lee Edwards| T: L Egerton| D
50/1
Won a Sedgefield bumper in May, last year, when trained by the late Alan Swinbank, but has been beaten a total of 81L on his two hurdling starts for his current handler. Hard to fancy on those efforts.
4

Shamasht22
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: R Johnson| T: J C McConnell
5/4
Three-times Flat winner who has gradually been getting his act together in four hurdles outings. Third at Downpatrick last time, this Irish challenger looks the biggest threat to Mister Universum.

Forecasts

Mister Universum (10/11), Shamash (5/4), Luso Benny (14/1), Patience Tony (50/1)

Verdict

Assuming he turns up in the same mood as when winning at Stratford last time, MISTER UNIVERSUM ought to win this. However, he was a little hit-and-miss on his previous runs over hurdles so he may not be one to take a short price about. Irish raider Shamash may be his main challenger, but Luso Benny has some potential and could improve. Patience Tony looks the least likely contender.
  1. Mister Universum
  2. Shamash
  3. Luso Benny
