Group 2 winner at Newmarket at the July meeting, beating U S Navy Flag by 1¾L and the promising Rajasinghe. Plenty to like about that effort in the context of this race and has won with soft in the going description previously. 3lb penalty may not stop him winning back-to-back races.
Improved for his debut when winning at Chepstow last time out in fine fashion but completely different ground to contend with here and this certainly a big step up against some more experienced rivals.
Shock 80/1 winner on debut but weakened out of things tamely at Newmarket last time out. Not disgraced however and interesting to see whether he handles these conditions.
Won with cut in the ground at Newmarket towards the end of June but form of that race yet to work out and well beaten back at that course next time. Trainer and jockey won this last year for these owners so good chance he is well regarded and has proven himself with cut in the ground to some extent. Each-way claims.
Winner in soft ground at Nottingham and only juts touched off last time at Haydock. Interesting runner returned to soft ground and trainer has an excellent record here (18.52%).
Narrowly beaten by Rajasinghe at Royal Ascot last time, travelling well into the contest and nearly belied his odds of 33/1. That effort among the best form on offer here but soft ground is a complete unknown. Trainer has an excellent record here and the yard are running at a strike-rate of just under 31% currently; has to be taken seriously.
Narrowly touched off by Gustav Klimt at Newmarket last time out, improving on his run at Royal Ascot. Won a maiden in soft ground and has been underestimated in the market on all his starts to date; strong claims back in softer conditions.

Forecasts
Cardsharp (2/1), Nebo (3/1), Barraquero (4/1), Headway (4/1), U S Navy Flag (5/1), Invincible Army (7/1), Etefaaq (16/1), Green Power (16/1), Grand Koonta (16/1), Bullington Bandit (22/1)
Cardsharp could very well prove a tough nut to crack despite his penalty but slight preference is for NEBO who is proven in the conditions and ran a fine race at Newmarket last time out. U S Navy Flag is starting to get the hang of things for the O'Brien yard while both Green Power and Headway both represents yards that do well at this course.
- Nebo
- Cardsharp
