Unable to open account in four outings in maiden hurdles at up to 2m4f but much-improved on his handicap debut when a close-up third behind Magic of Light at the Punchestown Festival (2m5f, good to yielding). Respected on chasing debut.

Bumper winner who has also scored three times over hurdles. Offered something to work on when a 33L fourth of 14 behind Rathvinden on his chasing debut over 3m1f (good) at Wexford last month.

Twice a winner over hurdles but has had an interrupted career and raced with little sparkle when soundly beaten on his chasing debut over 2m3f (yielding) at Leopardstown on Boxing Day.

Lightly-raced for his age, having won a bumper and a maiden hurdle on bottomless ground early in his career for Dermot Weld. Not sighted since finishing a close third in this race 12 months ago and it will be interesting to see how he fares for a new yard.

8/1
Winning hurdler who recovered from a fall on his chasing debut to finish a 12L second behind Rathvinden over 3m1f (good) at Wexford last month. Clearly going the right way and not hard to envisage a big run.
Toiled at long odds in a series of bumpers and, though he did manage to win a 3m point-to-point on soft ground in February, his overall profile is uninspiring. Hard to fancy as he makes a debut over regulation fences.

Plenty of experience in France and solid form in good company over hurdles on these shores, but only fourth of 14 behind Conrad Hastings in a chase at Kilbeggan (2m4f, good to yielding) on his last chase start. More needed.

Winner twice over hurdles and best effort in eight chase starts came when finishing runner-up to The West's Awake at Limerick (2m3f, good) last time out. Capable of making presence felt in this company.

In good form with two wins last summer (bumper and a maiden hurdle) and has shown up well in better hurdle company since without adding to his tally. In good hands as he makes a chasing debut.

Sole success came in a bumper at Galway on good to yielding ground last July. Well beaten in three beginners chases so far, most recently when beaten out of sight behind Cable at Limerick (2m2f, good). Hard to fancy.

Point-to-point winner at Inchydoney (good) in May but well beaten in two maiden hurdle efforts and struggled when fitted with a tongue tie for his chasing debut at Limerick last month. Hard to make a case for.

Fair effort when 15L fourth of 14 in a Roscommon bumper on good ground in May but saddle slipped when unseating at the same course next time and toiled badly behind The West's Awake on his chasing debut at Limerick. Plenty to prove.

Three-time winner in bumpers and won twice over hurdles last summer. Less impressive in two runs over fences, beaten 17L when second to Conrad Hastings at Kilbeggan (good to yielding) but no surprise if he has more to offer.

Forecasts

Oathkeeper (4/1), Dont Tell No One (13/2), Tesseract (7/1), Ballela Boy (8/1), Jeannot De Nonant (8/1), Just Cause (8/1), Fly Rory Fly (8/1), A Rated (8/1), Bosman Rule (10/1), Cassells Rock (14/1), Poormans Hill (33/1), Silverfort (33/1), Fruits Of Gold (66/1), Present News (100/1)

Verdict

Don't Tell No One was a close third in this race last year for Dermot Weld but hasn't raced since, so his fitness must be taken on trust as he reappears for John Kiely. Oathkeeper and A Rated are interesting on their chasing debut's but preference is for the improving FLY RORY FLY who shaped like a future winner when beating everything bar the classy Rathvinden at Wexford last time.
  1. Fly Rory Fly
  2. Tesseract
  3. A Rated
