Could hardly be called a lightly-raced three-year-old and judging by his form he looks as though he's better on the AW with his sole win coming on the Tapeta at Newcastle. Most of his recent turf form has been poor though including his last run at Bath over a mile.
Had just the one run for David Wachman in Ireland as a juvenile (shaped well) and got off the mark on his first run since being gelded for this yard at Newcastle earlier in the year over 7f. Has run a couple of interesting races in handicaps since on both occasions looking as though he could do better and a mile in a strongly run race would suit ideally with his mark looking one he can win off.
Made a major step forward to get off the mark on his second start in a Thirsk maiden over 7f and showed he had progressed again when taking second on his handicap debut at Carlisle. That second to one who was more experienced has been franked by the third since and although he was a cheap buy from the Shadwell Stud he could be useful.
After needing his reappearance run he's been very consistent with his form and found some improvement to win showing a good attitude at Carlisle in May off a 5lb lower mark. Looked a little unlucky not to add another win to his CV at Catterick last time out but has just been pushed up another 2lb for that run.
Formerly with Charlie Appleby for whom he won an Epsom maiden over 7f he's not quite taken off for this yard yet and hasn't looked a threat on his last two starts. Chances are that there is a win in him but he may need to ease a few more pounds in the handicap yet.
Like many from this age group in this yard he's already had plenty of racing and it's doubtful if there is much if any improvement left in him. His record stands at 1/17 so far but he does rather look to have lost his way at the moment.
His best form as a juvenile was very much under quick conditions but he does look a bit exposed in comparison to some in this field. He's only had one outing this year and that came way back in February and although he had the run of the race he looked held off this mark and could well need a little further also.
Plenty in this have had a few chances in handicap company and don’t look to have much progress left in them off their current marks but that can’t be said of either HUGIN or Raselasad both of whom still look to have plenty of improvement in them. Heir Of Excitement is another who can take a hand in proceedings being one of the most consistent in the field with Maldonado one who needs watching in the market.
