Racked up a four-timer (two each for this yard and Donald McCain) in 2015 and goes on any ground. Has run some good races in defeat since, with the handicapper just having his measure, but now that he has relented a little, this drop in class could give him strong claims. Stays 2m4f.
Won a similar race to this here over C&D last time (good) by 3½L, for which he has gone up 5lb. That looks fair enough and, although this is slightly stronger, he is proven beyond this trip, which could come in handy at the business end. A leading player.
Dual course winner, including over C&D last September from 3lb higher under today's champion pilot. Has not been able to get competitive since then when racing mainly over further, but now back at this trip and from this mark he might do much better.
Another who loves his summer jumping at this venue, having won three times (two over C&D last month). Looked beaten when falling over hurdles last time, but back over fences at this venue, he looks likely to be very competitive from 3lb higher than his most recent win
Former Summer Plate winner, though that was the last time that he managed to win over fences, with just a solitary Sedgefield hurdles success in the past two years. However, has been knocking on the door again of late and again looks capable of a bold showing.

Forecasts
Indian Temple (15/8), Mountain King (3/1), Red Spinner (3/1), Tangolan (13/2), Russian Regent (13/2), Theflyingportrait (8/1), Brave Spartacus (9/1), Bon Chic (12/1)
Another where there a few of them will fancy their chances, such as Theflyingportrait, who is not one to write off after last time, and Red Spinner, who could benefit from this drop in class. None of the others can be ruled out with any great confidence, though MOUNTAIN KING makes appeal as being a decent value bet. This is only the second time since last year's C&D win that he has tackled this sort of trip again and that, plus the presence of Richard Johnson and a 3lb lower mark might just see a different result.
