Veteran campaigner who is effective from 2m4f up to 3m2f, but this trip looks way short of what he needs to produce his best. Significantly out of sorts lately too, however, for those wanting to take a chance, he drops in class and the champion is an interesting jockey booking.
All three of his wins have been over 1m4f (AW) at Dundalk and he has yet to make the frame from nine attempts over hurdles/fences. Not easy to see him suddenly re-writing that today.
Enjoyed a good month coming into this, being runner-up here over both 2m and 2m4f, the latter from 2lb lower, and then winning over 2m1f (good) at Market Rasen and running well last time at Uttoxeter. No reason why he can't run another big race today.
Comes here chasing a four-timer after wins at Kelso and then twice here over C&D (all on good ground). Latest 4lb rise now makes it a total of 15lb for those successes, but while this will be tougher, you couldn't predict with any confidence that his winning run has come to an end just yet.
A drop to this handicap mark has induced a couple of decent efforts in defeat at Hexham and also here over C&D behind Welcome Ben last time. Now 4lb better off with that opponent for just over 1L, so ought to be able to go close to winning, though that is something that she has never yet managed to do.
13-race maiden who has made the frame just once and is impossible to fancy coming into a race with several others in good form.

Forecasts
Martiloo (2/1), Welcome Ben (9/4), Muwalla (5/2), Argentix (5/1), Yes Tom (12/1), Carried (16/1), Here Comes Love (25/1)
Competitive fayre here for a relatively small field, with Martiloo, Muwalla and Welcome Ben all likely to be high on short-lists given their recent form, but the suggestion is ARGENTIX, who looks very interesting over this shorter trip if Derek Fox can employ similar tactics to last time. Yes Tom drops in class and has the champ up, which are two reasons why we should probably have a cursory glance at the market, although this trip really ought to place too much emphasis on speed for the old boy.
