Finished second at Windsor on her only start as a juvenile, but has failed to step up on that in three outings this term. Made little impact on her handicap debut at Thirsk last time and needs to find improvement to figure.

Has failed to hit the frame in six starts, but his last two runs have been respectable without the promise of an imminent win. May need to drop a few pounds to become a betting proposition.

Had been running well without getting her head in front before disappointing at Carlisle last time. She remains a maiden after 16 starts, but has the ability to go close at this level if returning to the form of her previous runs.

Three quiet runs in maidens preceded success in her first handicap at Newcastle. She ran well again when second off 3lb higher at Hamilton and even though she is up another 3lb, she has to be considered a leading contender.

Won at Lingfield last summer, but has struggled this season. He was far from disgraced at Wolverhampton last time, however, and might be about to return to form.

Has shown only limited signs of ability in three starts, including when fitted in a visor and cheekpieces on his last two runs. The headgear is left off for his first run in handicap company, but he does not appeal as a strong contender.

Has yet to hit the frame in eight attempts but was in the process of running a fair race when hampered at Beverley last time. Drops 2f in trip and runs off 2lb lower so not without hope.

Won twice for David Evans last year, but has not been in the same form this time round and tries her luck for a new yard. Dropping down the weights, but has something to find.

Little to shout about in three maidens last season. Tries his luck in handicap company and has a lengthy absence to overcome.

Forecasts

Belisa (11/4), Time To Sea (3/1), Coverham (4/1), Mama Africa (9/2), Mark Of Excellence (5/1), Unonothinjonsnow (10/1), Lovely Acclamation (14/1), Northdown (16/1), Greyjoy (16/1), Pitch High (20/1), Silver Mist (20/1), Madam Prancealot (25/1), Careyanne (25/1)

Verdict

Not many of these appeal as winners-in-waiting and Silver Mist would have been one of them but for his positive jockey booking. Pitch High showed promise at Beverley last time and could go well, but the one which has the most convincing profile is Belisa who followed three maiden runs with a handicap win and second place last time. She can win this ordinary contest, perhaps at the main expense of Mama Africa, who is better than she showed last time.
  1. Belisa
  2. Mama Africa
  3. Pitch High
