4/7
Top class hurdler that won the 2015 World Hurdle at his peak, but already had two defeats at odds-on over fences and doesn't look a natural at the game by any means. This is another good opportunity though, although clearly not one for the mortgage at present.

Getting the hang of things over fences has turned in some reasonable efforts as of late, although put in his place easily enough by Work Du Breteau over C&D last time and never looked like winning. Needs more if he's to cause an upset.

Has won a couple of point-to-points but not anywhere near the standard required to trouble the principals here, and best watched on Rules debut tonight.

Some useful early-season form as a juvenile hurdle but didn't really carry it through the season, and became a little disappointing. Well beaten on only chase start (burst a blood vessel) and a risky proposition at present.

Magie Du Mah,t23
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-0| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR:  130
8/1
Gets plenty of weight as a 4-y-o filly, has ability but a bit of temperament to go with it. Easily brushed aside by the useful Work In Progress at Market Rasen on chasing debut and needs to do an awful lot better here.

Forecasts

Cole Harden (4/7), Exxaro (11/4), Magie Du Ma (8/1), Nachi Falls (20/1), Brown Revel (100/1)

Verdict

COLE HARDEN would be an absolute shoo-in on the best of his hurdles form, but he's twice been beaten at short prices now and is becoming one for the needy and greedy only. This is another winnable race but he's clearly not one for the mortgage now. Exxaro might give him something to think about if putting another solid round of jumping in, with Magie Du Ma claiming third.
