Best effort came at Brighton and beaten twice at Ascot since. Has a BHA rating of 69 and it would have to be a particularity poor maiden if he proved good enough to take it. Nevertheless, recent rain raises the prospect of the ground riding slower than forecast and that would be a big plus.
Half-brother to 7f winner Zefferino out of an unplaced mare (1m, AW) who is a half-sister to 1m Group One winner Spinning Queen. Slowly away on debut and played up at the stalls when soundly beaten four weeks ago. Looks one of the stable's lesser lights and needs to improve significantly.
Out of a Listed placed dam, and debut run wasn't devoid of promise when beaten just over 3L behind subsequent winner Chatburn in a novice auction at Redcar (5f, good). Well beaten in better company at Newbury on soft ground nine days ago and blinkers are removed. Yard are without a winner this month but almost 50 percent of their runners have made the frame.

€65,000 purchase who has been well down the field on both starts and who looks a more likely type for nurseries after this.

No show in two previous starts here at long odds. This is less competitive but it is still hard hard to make a positive case.

Forecasts

Dream Prospect (11/10), City Guest (5/2), Global Academy (3/1), Istanbul Pasha (16/1), Spring Romance (25/1)

Verdict

City Guest drops in class having contested two better races than this at Ascot lately. His best effort came on easy ground at Brighton and rain will assist his chances. Dream Prospect showed little improvement last time and he needs to step up here in order to score. GLOBAL ACADEMY was outclassed last time and may have found the rain softened ground against him also. His previous effort at Redcar has worked out well enough to suggest he should take race of this modest nature.
  1. Global Academy
  2. City Guest
  3. Dream Prospect
