Had been going well until finishing last of six last time. Of obvious interest here with top rider on board and with blinkers, worn for both victories, back on.

Has been in good form this year on AW tracks and when scoring on fast ground in May. Poor on his last three starts and hard to fancy despite assistance from top young rider.

Has work to do with Juan Horsepower on running at Bath in May but that rival has lost his way since. Landed his first turf success 16 days ago following a change of tactics and one to note under a reasonable 4lb rise. Rider has a 3-64 career record.

Last win came in Listed company at Newbury in May 2014 but it's been mainly a downhill plunge since then and is now rated 33lb lower. Little to write home about in recent outings and others make much more appeal.

Showed a good turn of foot to land a Doncaster maiden in the mud eight weeks ago. Outclassed next time before doing the best of the hold up horses at Kempton 19 days ago. Looks interesting at this level with conditions more suitable and top rider on board.

Winner off 3lb lower at Chepstow in May and has held his form well since. Rider having just her third ride in public and stable have been quiet of late.

Forecasts

Fortitude (3/1), Mr Pocket (3/1), Gold Hunter (4/1), Dandy Flame (5/1), Juan Horsepower (5/1), Indian Affair (13/2), Musical Comedy (15/2), Pour La Victoire (12/1), Zebs Lad (66/1)

Verdict

Gold Hunter looks set to go close with the booking of a capable amateur adding to his attraction. He has been holding his form well since his Salisbury success and meets rivals who have questions to answer. Mr Pocket may prove a different proposition with the blinkers refitted but FORTITUDE earns our vote. Hugo Palmer's filly will have the services of Josephine Gordon and arrives having found her last race not going to plan due to a muddling pace. The slower ground and likelihood of a strong gallop will help this lightly raced filly who was an impressive winner of a Doncaster maiden eight weeks ago.
