Not much to take from two starts in hurdles so far and safe to look elsewhere on this occasion.
Ran above expectations to finish fourth on debut at Fairyhouse in April. Been given time to recover and worth noting in the betting.
Failed to complete his only start in a point-to-point and hard to get too enthusiastic about his chances of posted a transformed effort tonight.
Yard very highly respected but this cheaply purchased gelding looks more of a prospect for the Flat than a jumping career. The betting will provide a few clues towards expectations short term.
Only hinted at ability so far. Needs to start improving quickly and probably safest to let him run his race uninhibited by betting involvement tonight.
Finished last of 10 on debut and never once looked like he was going to take a hand. Easy to leave out of the betting plans on that evidence.
Good effort on debut at Cork - made good progress in the latter stages and should have benefited from the experience. Noteworthy that the same jockey keeps the ride and another bold effort could be forthcoming.
Cost €36,000 and looks the part on paper. Very likely the stable's main hope and has to make the shortlist for consideration.
High-class pedigree and caught the eye with an above expectations effort on debut a Killarney. Overcame trouble in running on that occasion and displayed a likeable attitude. Could be hard to master if in a similar frame of mind.
Cost €9,000 as a three-year-old, he made an inauspicious start at Killarney earlier in the month and already has improvement to find. Others make more appeal.
Cost 10,000gns at the Newmarket sales last October, he is stoutly-bred and represents a trainer with an impeccable record at the Festival. Support in the betting ring looks inevitable but also dangerous to ignore.
Found only the one pace under pressure on debut - eventually finished a well beaten last and makes limited appeal for betting purposes here.
Cost €15,000 and is bred to be effective at the Jumping game. Likely to be the stable's lesser fancied option on this occasion but worth noting for future reference in strong looking bumper.
Related to winners but already lacks scope for improvement and appears to be thew stable's second string.
Point-to-point winner that cost his connections €34,000, he is thrown in at the deep end for his debut in a Bumper and may be best watched just for now. A step up in trip no doubt suit in time.
Yard sometimes hard to oppose with its runners in bumpers and this well-bred mare may no exception for many (worth noting team Mullins won this in 2013 with the talented Wickow Brave). The betting will be informative once more and she has to merit serious consideration.
Forecasts
Boris Grishenko (13/8), Chess Grand Master (7/2), Poet Power (6/1), Dayna Moss (7/1), Distribution (8/1), Analytical Mindset (10/1), Cool Robin (16/1), Trump Sixteen (20/1), Mount Guista (20/1), Zero Ten (33/1), Diamond Getaway (33/1), Epsilon Indi (50/1), Kosovo (50/1), Dryennais (50/1), Lough Navar (100/1), Tungsten Kid (100/1)
A few of these will no doubt go non to much better things if they can live up to their breeding. The likes of Poet Power, Boris Grishenko, and Analytical Mindset all make plenty of appeal and any one may prove good enough to grab this by the scruff of the neck. However, CHESS GRAND MASTER is a regally-bred individual that really caught the eye on debut and may just be good enough to force the issue to go his way on this occasion.
- Chess Grand Master
- Poet Power
- Boris Grishenko
