Posted a couple of decent efforts over hurdles in the last month or so and has experience of fences from going point-to-pointing. May improve for the new challenge so worth keeping tabs on in the betting.
Went close in a similar race at Downpatrick last month and has sound place claims on a literal reading of that effort. Going the right way over fences and one to bear in mind.
Three starts over fences have been poor and didn't really create the impression that his turn is near. The experience will bring him on but it will be surprising if he is good enough to prevail here.
12 previous starts over fences failed to better his effort in a point-to-point and while he looks sure-footed, he lacks the scope to improve and may have to settle for a minor role.
Slipped on the bend last time out, so very safe to rule that one out. Open to a bit of improvement if he can stay out of trouble this time and it will open a new avenue for him if he can adapt. Worth a check in the betting.
Been given plenty of time since he made a winning debut in a point-to-point in 2015. Pulled up a couple of times this season, so obviously has his flaws. But should have befitted from his confidence booster over hurdles at Sligo and not devoid of interest in a weak event like this.
Fell on chasing debut but almost put the record straight last time out. Leading contender in this company now he has proved his can maintain a clear round and looks the one to beat.
Glimpses of ability over hurdles and represents a top yard that can have a chaser primed and ready. Likely he will need more experience but he is one to monitor over fences from here whatever happens.
Started to get the hang of things over hurdles and has scope to improve now he switches disciplines to fences. May be capable of nicking a place in the frame and is worth noting in the betting.
Hurdles form only average at best and this fellow looks to be the owner's lesser hope from his duo of contenders (also represented by Thecraicisninety).
Did win once from eight starts ion point-to-points but has been regressive since joining the professional ranks and not hard to leave out of the betting plans this time.
Been expensive to follow since she won a bumper on her second career start. Fell on chasing debut ans is probably best watched until she finds her level. Her canny trainer will no doubt have a good handle on that so a careful monitoring of the betting is still advised where this mare is concerned.
Forecasts
Valgor Du Ronceray (1/1), Thecraicisninety (6/1), Mullaghmurphy Blue (10/1), Caniwillyegiveme (11/1), Fenlon's Hill (12/1), Theatre Wine (12/1), Market's Field (14/1), Cresus De Grissay (14/1), Art Of Supremacy (16/1), Forever Dylan (33/1), Is That Marmalade (66/1), Boston Lady (66/1)
The Joseph O'Brien-trained VALGOR DU RONCERAY has a lot going for him in this company and is presented with a good opportunity to get off the mark over fences. Fenlon's Hill and Caniwillyegiveme are capable of making a fist of things, while support for either Mullaghmurphy Blue or Theatre Wine would make this an intresting heat for each-way punters looking for a value angle.
- Valgor Du Ronceray
- Fenlon's Hill
- Caniwillyegiveme
