Mark falling now after a series of moderate efforts, and all her best form has come over trips shorter than today's. Likely to need this after a short break and it all looks a bit too much for her today.

Might appreciate this step back up in trip after appearing to get tapped for pace at Southwell latest, but handicapper had looked in charge before that and she may be playing for the places again here unless upping her game.

Ability is there, but she's becoming very frustrating and again failed to give her running in a similar event at Worcester latest. Step back up in trip may help, but she's starting to look a risky proposition now. Not discounted, but needs to bounce back.

Winner of a novice hurdle at Huntingdon under similar conditions to today's last November, and looks fairly handicapped on that alone but switch to red-hot yard likely to bring about more improvement and in a moderate contest, she has to be given maximum respect.

Took advantage of a couple of the fancied ones not acting on the softer ground to score an unlikely success over 2m here latest, certainly won't mind any rain based on that and handicapper has not gone overboard on the form, so if getting this trip (likely, as a point-to-point winner) may get in the money again.

Forecasts

Miss Spent (11/8), Bridane Rebel (10/3), Clemency (4/1), Fit The Brief (9/2), Hope's Wishes (12/1)

Verdict

This looks a weak event and Dan Skelton has improved far worse horses than MISS SPENT to win at the first time of asking and she looks another winner for the yard here. Bridane Rebel caused a bit of an upset here last time but the handicapper has been sensible about the form and she may prove the biggest danger. Fit The Brief's supporters are tearing their hair out but she is capable if putting her best foot forward.
  1. Miss Spent
  2. Bridane Rebel
  3. Fit The Brief
