Galileo colt, full-brother to two-year-old 6f winner First Of Spring and dam was a 1,000 Guineas winner and closely related to Group 1 winner Dylan Thomas. Didn't need to improve to get off the mark at the third attempt last time when a 1/5fav but will need more here and Moore prefers The Pentagon.

33/1
Red Jazz colt, cost €17,000 as a foal and €8,500 as a yearling. Off the mark in maiden at Roscommon last time, staying on gamely in the process but one would have thought he needs a giant step forward if he's to land a blow in this company.

33/1
Haatef gelding who built on his promise in maidens with a smart win in a valuable contest last time out over C&D. Still gives the impression he can improve on that but has to get involved stepped up to Group company.

The Pentagon12
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: R L Moore| T: A P O'Brien| D
4/11
Galileo colt, half-brother to Group 2 winner Vadamar. Won his maiden on second start at the Curragh with any amount in hand, improving from his debut at that course. Sure to do better as he goes up in trip but could have to much class for his rivals here and rates as the one to beat.

4/1
Teofilo colt whose dam was an unraced granddaughter of multiple US Grade 1 1m1f winner Dispute. Winner over the mile here on debut but couldn't build on that last time at the Curragh when dropped back to an extended 6f. Will enjoy the step back up in trip but may still find this too sharp.

Would Be King25
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: Colin Keane| T: G M Lyons| OR:  97
8/1
Lethal Force colt, cost €18,500 as a foal and €42,000 as a yearling and dam was Group placed. Only one in the line-up yet to record a win but useful form behind subsequent Group 2 winner Gustav Klimt last time out and yard are in flying form. Could run well.

Forecasts

The Pentagon (4/11), Theobald (4/1), Would Be King (8/1), Berkeley Square (16/1), Burgundy Boy (33/1), Red Persian (33/1)

Verdict

Would Be King has bumped into a couple on recent starts and his form behind Gustav Klimt at the Curragh last time out now reads well but it's hard to see past THE PENTAGON for the O'Brien/Moore combination. He will do better the further he goes but he may have too much for his rivals here. Red Persian is an interesting runner and showed last time that there's still plenty to work on; no surprise to see him outrun his odds.
  1. The Pentagon
  2. Would Be King
  3. Red Persian
