Hills Prospect Simply The Best Maiden Stakes

Son of Invincible Spirit who cost 5,500 gns at the sales in October having cost plenty more both as a foal and a two-year-old. Shown some ability on both starts so far but handicaps look the more likely route for him to record a win.

Son of New Approach, cost €27,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to the useful Alamode. Gave himself no chance on debut here when missing the break and looking very green; probably the type to do better in handicaps when more experienced.

Shamardal gelding and half-brother to Group 3 winner Sparkling Beam while dam was a Group placed two-year-old winner. Should come on for his run at Chester when done no favours by a slow start and yard do well with their younger horses. Each-way possibilities.

Dubawi gelding and half-brother to several useful winners at around this trip. Yard have 37.88% strike-rate around here and jockey has a good strike-rate when riding for the trainer. Should go well on what looks a suitable test on debut.

So You Think colt, cost 70,000 gns as a foal and 100,000 gns as a yearling. Has seemingly run well on both starts to date but form of those races yet to be franked. Should improve but perhaps a little vulnerable to anything above average.

Sepoy gelding, half-brother to Group One winner Seal Of Approval. Well beaten on both starts to date though and looks a more likely winner when tackling handicaps.

New Approach gelding out of an Italian Listed winner. Didn't show a great deal on debut when a seemingly unfancied 66/1 shot. Others arrive with stronger claims and may do better with more time.

Dutch Art gelding, cost 150,000 gns as a foal and £205,000 as yearling. Half-brother to five winners including Master Of War and Muaamara. Promising debut here and entitled to come on for that effort; interesting runner already proven to some extent around here.
