Dual winner last year off higher marks than he runs off today but has really failed to find any spark this year and best watched for now.

A record of 1/21 probably tells you the full story and his only win came over this trip at Thirsk earlier in the year when the yard was in good form. Only one decent effort since and his last two starts have been fairly modest and he looked laboured last time out.

Both career wins have come over 7f on the AW at Wolverhampton the latest off a 10lb higher mark (much more highly rated on the AW). Ran well enough for this yard on debut for hem over 6f at Chepstow and will appreciate the return to a furlong further and could take advantage of the lower mark here.

Yet to win a race from a limited number of starts but has shown ability in both his start this year over this 7f trip. Showed improved form on his debut and backed that up last time at Musselburgh finishing third but probably shaping a bit better than that final position.

Fairly lightly race since winning on the AW at Wolverhampton in February 2015 and looks a better horse on the Tapeta surface. Can act on turf and has won on it in the past but was below form here last time out and looks a fragile sort.

C&D winner whose form can be a little up and down although he's looked better since any headgear was removed. His win here came on soft ground off 4lb lower mark and he remains capable of running well again providing his temperament allows him to.

Ran one of his better race last time out in the same headgear combination under an inexperienced rider. A fully-fledged rider now takes over and he should be able to make some impression off this mark which is a career low.

Scored in decisive fashion over C&D last time out under today's rider whose first winner it was last time out. Not certain to be in the same form here however given his propensity to throw a bad run in after a good one.

Stable always need respecting with their runners here even those without a more obvious chance. This one has yet to fire this year and was pulled-up last time (saddle slipped) and may well be better at 6f but a market watch is still advised.

Ran a good race here last time out behind Let Right Be Done sticking on well and looking capable of winning at this level and off a basement mark. Stable are in good form currently and do well here and this one should be very much respected and could well go one better than last time.

A 23-race maiden so not the most solid of propositions although she is going through a good spell at the moment without necessarily looking like winning. Has work to do with Magic Journey based on her last run and on balance a place looks to be her best chance again.

Magic Journey (5/2), Inglorious (5/1), Declamation (5/1), Mallymkun (7/1), Bernie's Boy (7/1), Jessie Allan (12/1), The Name's Paver (12/1), Jack Blane (12/1), Ss Vega (12/1), Cosy Club (16/1), Greengairs (16/1), Slemy (16/1), Let Right Be Done (20/1), Irvine Lady (20/1)

Verdict

Not the most edifying of betting contests and many of these have had plenty of chances in the past and winning form is pretty thin on the ground. Bernie’s Boy looks one who will give his running along with Magic Journey and Mallymkun if the latter can produce her best form on turf she looks well in here. Inglorious may well be the pick of the Keith Dalgleish trio with Jack Blaine of interest on his first run from the same yard. IRVINE LADY ran a sound race last time out and with her yard in a good runoff form at the moment she’s the pick of a modest bunch here.
  1. Irvine Lady
  2. Mallymkun
  3. Bernie's Boy
