Useful sort on the Flat (rated 90) he's taken well to hurdles winning his last two starts the most recent over C&D having started an odds-on shot as he also did on his other win. Only won by 3L but looked to have plenty in hand and sure to go well here despite conceding weight all round.

Looks one for the longer term based on his two Rules outing so far having run once in a bumper (showed little) and looking rather slow over hurdles last time at Uttoxeter over further. Not sure this sharper trip will suit and will only make appeal when switched to low grade handicaps.
Well beaten in both of his bumper starts he fared little better when sent hurdling and was well beaten in the end and hard to see him making much of an impression here.
Wore a hood when well beaten in all his three bumpers and looked a hard ride in that sphere. Headgear dispensed with for his hurdles debut and he looked as though he needed the run there but still only beat one home (pulled hard) and can only be watched here.

Hinted at ability when running in two novice hurdles when with Kim Bailey both on ground with some give in. Showed that potential was still there after a long break on his first outing for this yard before falling three out and would be interesting for handicaps granted a mark given his current connections and will be of interest here.

Still yet to be given a mark over hurdles and despite having shown only limited ability so far looks as though he'll be far better off in that sphere. Another to watch with interest in this race with a view to the future.

Twice a winner on the Flat at a reasonable level (both wins coming when front running) he's not quite shown the same form in this sphere yet. Raced too freely last time out at Worcester in a small field and he's another who may do better in a bigger field once he gets a mark.

Forecasts

Champagne City (2/5), Mister Universum (6/4), Ocean Eleven (11/2), Kalanisi Glen (7/1), Not At All (16/1), Justice Knight (25/1), Diamondsaretrumps (25/1), Fair Frank (33/1), Chasing Headlights (80/1)

Verdict

The main battle here looks to be between Mister Universum and CHAMPAGNE CITY with the latter favoured despite having to give weight away all round. The others to note here are Not At All and Kalanisi Glen both of whom have shown ability and no matter what they do here will be of real interest when they step into handicaps.
  1. Champagne City
  2. Mister Universum
  3. Kalanisi Glen
