C&D winner, but that was his sole win on the Flat and came back in July 2015, recent evidence points to him being more effective over hurdles.

This trip should in theory be his optimum but he has under-performed recently, including when beaten 28L into last at Nottingham last time out. Needs to return to his best form in order to prove competitive here.

Only win to date came over 1m and there would have to be a slight doubt about his stamina for this far, but he looks well-handicapped if able to prove that he does stay.

Has been running some fair races recently and certainly stays this far despite never having won over further than 1m4f. Looks on a suitable handicap mark and should be capable of running a big race.

Makes only her second start over this specific distance, having been beaten only a length on that previous occasion, but she hasn't been running well enough recently either on the Flat or other hurdles to suggest that she is waiting to win a race of this nature.

10/3
C&D winner who is up 1lb for a narrow defeat at Beverley last time out (1m4f, good to firm). Just as effective over this longer trip and won this last year off a very similar mark.

Down another 2lb after running a fair race at Musselburgh last time out but is 0/18 in his career and is starting to look nearly impossible to win with.

5lb higher than when scoring over C&D two starts ago but probably found the trip too sharp at Musselburgh last time out and not ruled out on his return to this track.

Forecasts

Midnight Warrior (10/3), London Glory (4/1), Picture Painter (5/1), Jan De Heem (6/1), Ominotago (7/1), Serenity Now (15/2), Ingleby Hollow (8/1), Adrakhan (8/1), Angel In The Snow (10/1), Maple Stirrup (33/1)

Verdict

This can go to OMINOTAGO, who has been running some eye-catching races in defeat recently and may find this to be the perfect test for her. She's yet to win on the turf but showed that she acts on the surface at Yarmouth last time out and is lightly-raced enough to suggest that there could be further improvement to come. She is taken to get the better of recent C&D scorer Adrakhan and Jan De Heem, who may have more to offer over this trip.
  1. Ominotago
  2. Adrakhan
  3. Jan De Heem
