Steady improvement since going over fences this year, easy winner (in lower grade) at Ffos Las in June and no disgrace in getting beaten by Definite Future at Worcester under a penalty three days later although may have found that race coming a little soon. New mark has kicked in but may yet have more to offer.

Looked to be crying out for a return to a right-handed track after latest Worcester display (all wins on r/h tracks) where he jumped well in the lead before throwing all chance away in the home straight. That effort best forgotten, but 5lb drop for it most welcome and can't be allowed too much rope here.

Came back from an absence to score with any amount in hand at Uttoxeter, and well-beaten second only just touched off next time, so 9lb rise fair. Trip fine and won't mind any rain, will get this run to suit and every chance of following up.

Chase debut today, no win since 2015 now and although very well handicapped these days, recent form not great although may have needed both recent runs after an absence. On balance, others make more appeal today.

Only the one win in 15 starts, but that came over hurdles here in April and overall record here very good. Far from disgraced over a trip too short on chase debut here in June and if taken at face value, nicely handicapped here. Step up in trip will suit and chances if building on that.

Became a little disappointing over hurdles but back to form on second chase start when jumping well from the front at Uttoxeter and only getting picked off late, the front two well clear. More to do from a higher mark and faces competition for the lead this time but at least heading the right way now.

Forecasts

Lovely Job (11/8), River Of Intrigue (3/1), Brian Boranha (3/1), Marquis Of Carabas (10/1), Rouge Devils (12/1), Chebsey Beau (25/1)

Verdict

Rouge Devils and River of Intrigue are likely to make this a decent test, and if Rouge Devils is allowed to slip away early he could be hard to peg back. Lovely Job will appreciate a good pace to come off and could go close but the faster they go for BRIAN BORANHA the better and he can come though late in the day to take this. Marquis Of Carabas can't be discounted either in what looks a tricky little contest.
  1. Brian Boranha
  2. Lovely Job
  3. Rouge Devils
