Darley cast-off who was unraced for Andre Fabre and picked up for just £5,500 at Doncaster in August 2016. His dam was a winner over 1m. Makes his debut wearing a tongue tie.
Gelded in early 2016 and unraced for Aidan O'Brien, this first foal by Galileo is out of a classy winning sprinter (Rimth). Mixed messages for this trip on pedigree and makes his debut wearing a tongue tie. Trainer also saddles Santiago de Cuba.
French pedigree, but not shown all that much in a couple of starts in Point-to-Points earlier in the year, and tough to imagine he can figure prominently in this contest.
Milan gelding out of a maiden half-sister to useful bumper/jumps winner Morning Supreme. Showed ability before weakening late on hurdles debut here in May, but less so when upped in trip next time. This race wouldn't have appeared an obvious next step.
Cost just €4,000 as a yearling out of an unraced dam, and hasn't shown all that much in bumpers to enthuse over. Best to look elsewhere.
Gelded in September 2016 and unraced for Aidan O'Brien, this 85,000gns foal (210,000gns yearling) by Derby winner Pour Moi ticks all of the right boxes, but clearly looks like he's been a backward sort. Must take all of the beating on debut with a top rider booked.
Ran well in all five bumper outings so far (three time runner up). Beaten by the Joseph O'Brien trained Champagne Paddy last time at Roscommon, so that trainer is likely to have a good idea as to how his pair of newcomers fare. Rain wouldn't be a concern.
This €15,000 Soldier Hollow gelding represents the champion trainer and has been in the frame on both starts so far at Fairyhouse and Ballinrobe, but much like Scheu Time was beaten by another O'Brien inmate last time (Tower Bridge), so similar comments apply.
€22,000 yearling by Yeats out of Sapphire Spray. Didn't really figure on debut in a decent bumper at Naas in January, but improvement can be expected after a break especially with this rider in the saddle.
Well beaten on debut in a Roscommon bumper won by Thermistocles last week, and makes little appeal on pedigree.

Joseph O'Brien has been mopping up these type of races aplenty lately and has an excellent knowledge of many of these runners through form-lines with his other horses. He should have a solid understanding as to exactly what the likes of Special Ted and Scheu Time have achieved, and it will be no surprise whatsoever if one of his two newcomers prevails. SANTIAGO DE CUBA looks the most obvious winner on pedigree, sales price and the all important jockey bookings with the excellent Derek O'Connor aboard.
