Beaten 3L by Roevin Star over 3m1f at Wexford last month and looks guaranteed to be suited by dropping back in trip. Major player despite top-weight and a 3lb rise.
Ran well over fences at Clonmel last month (third to Dark Outsider), and took full advantage of a lower hurdles mark when dropped to 2m to score by ½L from California Soul at Gowran Park subsequently.
Three time Point-to-Point winner, but yet to prove good enough under rules in five attempts and finished four and six places behind Invincible Don and Dark Outsider respectively at Clonmel last month.
A longstanding maiden (20 starts) and his most recent form figures over fences make fairly grim reading (P,P). Others much preferred.
Has won four races over fences, including two of his last three (C&D in May, and at Clonmel most recently). Continues to climb in the weights; up another 5lb, and the question is can the likes of Invincible Don and others reverse placings?
Not won a race since 2014 and lacks consistency with letters featuring prominently in his form figures in four of his last eight starts. Falling in the handicap accordingly.
Made all to score in a 2m handicap chase at Tramore in early April from a 7lb lower mark, and backed that up with a fair effort over further at Downpatrick in June. Possibly wouldn't want much more rainfall (given this trip), but holds claims.
C&D winner back in 2011, and whilst in good form in the latter part of the summer in 2016, won't be getting any better as he ages. Needs to show he retains his ability and zest off the back of an off-putting extended break.
Not a regular racer under rules, and in truth there's probably a good reason for that being the case. Well beaten in a Listowel Hunters Chase most latterly (rider failed to weigh in) and can't be considered on handicap debut.
Folded tamely under Richard Johnson over hurdles at Market Rasen last month (2/1f), but likely we've not seen the best of this two time Point-to-Point winner over fences yet and the market could be informative.
15 previous attempts over fences without success (0 from 10 in Point-to-Points), and shaped moderately when fourth of 11 on handicap debut at Wexford in late May. Could do better from the same mark in such a weak race, but doesn't look an obvious contender.
Doesn't seem to win all that often (1 from 32 career), but did finish third over C&D in August from a 9lb higher mark, so couldn't be fully dismissed despite having work to do with William Du Berlais on their Wexford clash last month.
Just held on to see off Willow Grange by a neck at Downpatrick (2m6f) in early May, but has failed to complete in two starts since. This is a weak race, so holds claims from a 5lb higher mark over a trip which looks ideal.
14 race maiden under rules who has failed to complete over fences the last twice and is fitted with cheek-pieces for the first time to accompany a more regular tongue tie.
First Reserve - Raced just twice since October 2015, and those races were punctuated either side of absences, but did win from a similar mark on this card in 2015. Tongue tie applied which suggests some tinkering with his wind.

Forecasts
Dark Outsider (4/1), William Du Berlais (4/1), Templemichael (11/2), Soaring High (8/1), The Trigger (10/1), Crocodile Dundee (12/1), Kilderry Prince (12/1), Invincible Don (12/1), Rufino (12/1), Ard Cregg (12/1), Cloneen Choice (12/1), Knockraha Prince (14/1), One Fine Morning (20/1), Mossy Island (20/1), Shanklys Dawn (40/1), Just Wait And See (50/1), Allied Victory (50/1), Longhouse Music (100/1)
Not too much makes any obvious appeal, so perhaps Kilderry Prince aside, it will pay to concentrate on those towards the top end of the weights. Dark Outsider and Invincible Don appear closely matched and are hard to split, so the vote goes to the top-weighted WILLIAM DU BERLAIS. Enda Bolger's six-year-old ran a sound race over a longer trip at Wexford late last month, and the worry of a 3lb rise is offset by the drop in trip which looks right up his street.
- William Du Berlais
- Kilderry Prince
- Dark Outsider
