Godolphin cast-off, who changed hands for £10,000 and is a half-brother to three winners including the very useful Fireglow. 100-1 and beaten 18L on debut at Thirsk earlier in the month and again looks best watched on that evidence.
Has made minor improvements in his last two starts in handicaps over this trip at Leicester and more recently at Beverley, but handicap mark on the slide and connections now turn to this grade to try and find that elusive win. Should be competitive.
Has had three runs in fairly quick time over 1m-1m2f and on good/soft ground. Not shown sufficient to suggest that he is about to come good here and likely to show more when he has a handicap mark.
Has been placed in four of his seven starts and has twice done that here (over 1m½f & 1m1f), including on fast ground. Has a disappointing run here last time to put behind him, but if he can do that then he would look the one to beat.
Has been making steady improvement, including when beaten less than 2L here over C&D in a handicap last time. Connections now opt to return to this grade and she looks to have frame claims, though is likely to need improvement to win.
33-1 and an 11½L seventh of 10 on debut at Chelmsford (1m, AW) earlier in the month. Green enough there and can improve for that and also perhaps for the fitting of a tongue-tie. Market check advised.
Forecasts
Somnambulist (6/5), Pioneering (15/8), Snowy Winter (8/1), Princess Nearco (9/1), Red Star Dancer (16/1), Ember's Glow (40/1)
Pioneering should be on the premises in a race such as this, while Princess Nearco should be able to pick up some prize money and Snowy Winter is interesting on her second starts. However, SOMNAMBULIST has the best form in the field and if you can forgive him his last effort, he looks good enough to finally earn a maiden success.
