Stays 1m6f and was last seen springing a 40-1 surprise here over 1m4f (good) in what was a better race. Raised just 2lb for that and with this extra furlong in his favour, he has twice previously put back-to-back wins together, so looks booked for a big effort in this follow-up attempt.

1-22 record with a Ripon maiden his sole success and thus far unable to find the necessary in handicaps from marks of 78-80. On the latter perch again today and can go very well, but looks like he will find something to beat him.

Couldn't manage a handicap win on the All Weather in the winter, but after a spring break he has returned in cracking form with back-to-back wins at Chester (1m4½f, good to soft & 1m6½f, good). Now looking progressive and the way he won last time suggests that a 6lb penalty might not be enough to prevent the hat-trick..

Sole success to date was in a Musselburgh maiden (1m, good) last season for Keith Dalgleish. Has gone close in his last three starts over similar trips to this, all from today's mark. Should give another good account but will need to find some improvement.

Forecasts

Hochfeld (4/9), Tor (9/2), Warp Factor (13/2), Sindarban (7/1), Be Perfect (20/1)

Verdict

A good contest in prospect here with the progressive HOCHFELD taken to defy a penalty and complete a hat-trick. Be Perfect tends to have purple patches and he is feared after success last time out, while Sindarban should get much closer now dropped in grade. The other pair Warp Factor and Tor look to need some improvement if they are to come home in front.
