Form for his new yard this year isn't anything to write home about and he's disappointed on both occasions. His one standout run came last year over 7f in a better grade than this under positive tactics but under favourable circumstances.

Showed up well on his first run this year (ran well against a draw bias) and has been relatively consistent after that. Looked back to his best last time over 6f at Bath on quick ground when given a positive off a 5lb lower mark and this looks a little tougher than last time.

Certainly came back to form on his last run when responding well to a positive ride off a rapidly falling mark on his AW debut. That was his first success for these connections and he appeared well suited by making the running and is well placed to try such tactics again back on turf off the same mark.

C&D winner around a year ago over 7f recording his third win of the year travelling well and winning easily. Didn't manage to win again in 2016 but came on for his reappearance to record a win next time out at Leicester in May off an 8lb lower mark. Showed that he could cope with this sort of this mark with a good second over C&D last time out and one to consider here.

In good form in a period from November 2016 - March 2017 scoring three times all in handicaps on the AW at up to a mile. Not seen to best advantage since his last win (all on the AW) and it will be interesting to see how he copes with turf having had only a couple of maiden runs on the surface earlier in his career.

A C&D winner here last year off a 2lb lower mark her record this time around is a little more variable although she wasn't beaten far behind Human Nature at Kempton Park last time. Her course record makes her worthy of respect although others do look stronger.

Forecasts

Frank Bridge (5/2), Handytalk (3/1), Human Nature (3/1), Sarangoo (5/1), Honiara (5/1), Archer's Arrow (7/1), Saleh (11/1), Carnival King (14/1)

Verdict

A tight handicap where a few will fancy their chances although with the exception of the three-year-old Archer’s Arrow most are fairly exposed and he’s one that makes some appeal with the possibility of better to come. Human Nature would be dangerous with an easy lead here but that’s not guaranteed and both Honiara and Handytalk are to be respected after running well of late. FRANK BRIDGE runs this course well and may well be able to build on his good second here last time out in a competitive affair.
  1. Frank Bridge
  2. Archer's Arrow
  3. Human Nature
