2/1
Useful hurdler who was found an easy opportunity for his chasing debut last month. Unsuited by the muddling pace last time and promises to be seen to better effect over this longer trip. Has less to prove than the rest of this field and trainer 16-50 around here.

4/7
Has been rejuvenated lately and a BHA rating of 147 over hurdles leaves him looking to resurrect his fledgling career over fences. Hitherto he has looked incompetent in this sphere, but he would be hard to beat if continuing in his current form.
Would have a bit to find with the principals on hurdling form but he represents a yard that are 10-26 with their summer novice chasers. That record includes 4-8 around here so he needs to be taken seriously.

33/1
Has plenty to find on hurdling form to be competitive on these terms. Would appear to be the stable's second string but will gain some valuable experience and possibly cover her expenses.

Forecasts

Knight Of Noir (4/7), Black Corton (2/1), Verygoodverygood (14/1), Lee Side Lady (33/1)

Verdict

Knight Of Noir is the pick of these on his hurdling form in receipt of 7lb from BLACK CORTON. Neil Mullholland's charge has made mistakes before getting detached on his last couple of starts over fences. Both those efforts were on bad ground but he looked less than enamoured with chasing and he may be a risk at the odds. Verygoodverygood represents a yard that do well with their novice chasers at this time of year but he would need luck in running. BLACK CORTON found his latest race developing into a sprint. The way he came home suggested this longer trip would be beneficial. With fewer doubts than his rivals, Paul Nicholls' charge looks the safest option.
  1. Black Corton
  2. Knight Of Noir
  3. Verygoodverygood
