The last of his five wins was over this trip at Doncaster in 2015. That was from 9lb higher, but he has clearly had his problems and has not shown much on either outing this season after a lengthy absence. From the same mark as last time, he is hard to recommend until we see more.
More of a 1m2f specialist than at this trip, though he has scored over this one too. Escapes a penalty today for landing an apprentice handicap at Pontefract last week and with the same pilot up there is no reason why he can't have a big say again. Acts on the forecast ground.
Went close in his first couple of handicaps last season for Roger Varian but has been well beaten on both starts since joining current yard. Back down to a mark from which he has previously gone close, so a market check is advised to gauge any confidence in a revival.
Won a Newcastle maiden in March over a similar trip and his best effort in three subsequent handicaps was at Doncaster two starts ago (1m4f, good), when a 3L fourth. Didn't appear to stay at Sandown last time, so the return to this trip and a 2lb drop makes him a very interesting contender.
Finally beginning to live up to his name, after four starts in the past couple of months, the best of which came last time at Ayr (1m2f, good). Stepped up in trip today, so being by a Derby winner, that may eek out some improvement and he is not ruled out of being involved at the business end if that is forthcoming.
Yet to win over this far, but was runner-up (beaten just a neck) in this last year from a 12lb higher mark. Ran well enough from 3lb higher last time out at Beverley and he now looks attractively weighted and a major player here.
Was in good form on the All Weather in the winter, though is 0-11 on turf. Well beaten in all three starts this turf campaign and a cumulative drop of 6lb for that looks insufficient to enable him to win this.

Forecasts
Blushing Red (5/4), Mysterial (15/8), Chant (7/2), Steccando (7/1), Correggio (8/1), Itlaaq (10/1), Sheriff Of Nawton (11/1), Sir Runs A Lot (12/1), Up Ten Down Two (16/1), Good Time Ahead (20/1), Hayward Field (80/1)
A back-to-form Itlaaq would be very competitive here, while Corregio is well handicapped and looked to be coming back to form last time. He is feared, along with Mysterial and Sir Runs A Lot, who might improve a bit for stepping up in trip. However, the selection here is CHANT, who has his optimum conditions and trip and can go one better than on his reappearance.
