Showed great promise in her first three starts as a juvenile and shaped with a degree of promise on her first run on this track in December. Returned here in May and having been sent off favourite, she stayed on well to win.
Slowly in to stride on seasonal debut in a messy race at Leicester at the end of May on good to soft, before fifth of 10, beaten 3¼L in Salisbury 7f handicap last month.
Scored sole success at Wolverhampton for William Haggas and has been well beaten of both starts for new handler.
Recorded his second win when scoring over 7f at Brighton (good to firm) in first time cheekpieces in May, but has bombed since at Windsor and Newbury.
Has improved for the move into handicaps this year and turned in a solid effort at Yarmouth, before a bitterly disappointing last of 10, beaten 24L three weeks ago.
Won a couple of nice races on the AW over the winter and won last time out in Yarmouth handicap over 7f, when beating eight rivals.
Won a maiden over 5f at Chepstow on good to firm ground (2/11f) but has found it tough going in handicaps since, including fifth of 11 last day in Newbury handicap over 7f. Defeats are not bringing him down the ratings though.
A return to the AW and a drop in trip saw him bounce back to some sort of form this month and was third of 12 on the Chepstow turf, beaten ½L last day.
Struggled in maidens but bits and pieces of encouragement in sprint nurseries last back-end. Returns from 261 day break.
In good order between 6f and 1m on turf/AW in his last four starts, including second of 12, beaten a neck at evens favourite six days ago.
€120,000 Dark Angel yearling who was unraced for Charlie Fellowes. Lightly raced, and clung on by a neck to score on his handicap debut over C&D in early May. Sixth of 11, beaten 8¾L last day six days ago.
Forecasts
Bruny Island (2/1), The Amber Fort (5/2), Alemaratalyoum (6/1), Phalaborwa (8/1), Diable d'Or (12/1), Nostalgie (14/1), Casina Di Notte (18/1), Cryptonite (33/1), Red Gunner (66/1), El Torito (66/1), Tullinahoo (150/1)
CD winner Cryptonite can take the field along here from stall three, with Nostalgie and Phalaborwa close behind. Red Gunner and Alemaratalyoum can certainly go well here and make the frame, behind, THE AMBER FORT who can build on his recent runs and his 'canny' mark.
- The Amber Fort
- Red Gunner
- Alemaratalyoum
