Three wins already this year and was conceding 7lb when narrowly outpointed at Perth last time. Gives away double that amount on this occasion but still remains a major contender.

Signs of some ability in two bumpers so far and connections will hope he can raise his game on this hurdles debut. Related to a number of winners both on the Flat and over jumps so cannot be ruled out.

100/1
Nine-year-old gelding who made a very late racecourse debut earlier this month and showed very little ability, being tailed off when pulled up soon after halfway. Impossible to recommend.

33/1
Flat bred gelding who has shown only a modicum of ability in three starts to date in bumpers. Too early to completely write him off, but must raise his game significantly now tackling hurdles for the first time.

Sprang a 50/1 shock when scoring on her hurdles debut at Warwick in May over this trip, then appeared to run out of steam over 2m4f last time at Market Rasen. Drops back to 2m and looks set to run a decent race.

10/1
Won Irish maiden point-to-point in May. No problems with the trip and trainer has to be respected. Interesting to see what the market makes of his chance on debut under rules.

Forecasts

Rebel Yeats (5/4), Dear Sire (15/8), Flying Verse (9/2), Wells Gold (10/1), Justice Knight (33/1), Good Event (100/1)

Verdict

Getting a stone from Dear Sire, the mare REBEL YEATS is taken to score for the second time in just three outings over hurdles. She ran well in defeat over a trip too far last time and back to two miles should prove hard to stop. Dear Sire can make a proper race of it and is definitely respected, but it won't be easy under his double penalty. Of the rest, Wells Gold may do OK under rules, while you couldn't completely rule out some improvement on hurdles bow from Flying Verse.
  1. Rebel Yeats
  2. Dear Sire
  3. Wells Gold
